If you've got tarmac withdrawal the remainder of the IRC season should take care of your needs......

This classic asphalt event takes place against the beautiful backdrop of the island of Madeira. The mountainous route is lined with flowers and has spectacular views at every turn. The curvy and twisty course is made even more treacherous by steep drop offs and the threat of unpredictable weather.

S2000 ENTRIES MUST USE FORD PUMA

Day 2 will be extremly difficult!
Italy stages are a nightmare and with storm weather I don't want to think about it :D

Finished shakedown! Fastest lap: 00:48.28

I love those narrow and twisty roads, so Madeira rally Is going to be
a very spectacular event! Of course, being spectacular, doesn't always
mean being the fastest too! ;)
Event's tip: the less breaking , the better times!
General settings: lower suspensions, stronger brakes, short gearbox!

Tannat, I'll try to finish the rally 'till Friday, 'cos I'll be away for a few days...

Hope to end my pointless (literally) run in this series so far this year, in Madeira. It would be fairly demotivating to be left without points and less than half the rallies remaining. To be top S1600 in the Attilio Betegga Cup, I need to put get up to 6 drivers points. And thats assuming Zes doesn't return to the series.

May go faster with the PS1...

Finished the rally, earlier than expected!
Day1 was pretty good - though I don't consider myself as a tarmac expert!
The grip was awesome and I tried to use brakes as rarely as I could!
Couldn't say the same, for stormy Day2 :
Slippery and very dangerous, so I didn't push very much!
I hope stormy weather, don't bring stormy results too..! :D

Rally finish to Olca Team Madeira

Day 1: Perfect Setup, which gave us a lot of confidence. Tried always to maintain concentration and a strong pace.

Day 2: Made a few changes on the car suspension, brakes, and tyre choice. Felt realy confortable on the wet, and again tried to pushed as hard as possible.

In conclusion, It was a very nice rally on my favourite surface (tarmac). We managed to pushed hard without any serious mistakes, and also set some PB's.

Belive we did enough for a podium....but the competition is getting tougher by the minute.

Good luck to everyone

Shakedown - 46.72

I've finished the rally and it was fairly decent. Day 1 was pretty good but SS4 caught us out with the ruts/ditches. Day 2 was ok too but the wet weather made driving a FWD car so difficult. I was getting so much understeer exiting corners so had to ease of the pace. On the first stage of day 1, I gambled on a shorter gearbox (-1) but I didn't find it any quicker. In fact, it ruined the smooth flow in my driving so I changed it back for the rest of the rally. I rolled on the last stage which cost a few more seconds but other than that, I'm pretty pleased. Fingers crossed I can get into the top 8 though I know the S2000s will be difficult to beat this time round.

For your interested my setup was -

Gearbox: 0 (One stage at -1)
Suspension: +5 (hardest)
Power Ratio: +5 (FWD - Normally, I wouldn't rally like this but I drive S1600)
Brake Bias: 0 (Car was fine under braking)
Brake Power: 0 (See above)
Steering: 0 (In retrospect, +1 or +2 may have worked better for day 2. Not 100% sure.)

I am evil Homer

Also finished the rally. It went well I think...wet stages were tricky and had to keep concentration but it seemed to go well.

Cheers guys. Didn't think my run would hold up that well, very pleased with it! :) I did 6 laps of the course. If only there was a racing forum championship (as opposed to rallying.) I remember I used to run consistantly midfield in the Toca 2 championship I co-ran a few years ago. I think I may have even scored a podium at one point.

Another win for Mithus in the Skoda. Homer trails home second by over a minute in the top Peugeot followed closely by jso1985 (timing error under investigation). Tannat takes fourth as the top S1600 followed closely by WRC teammate Paddy Cummins in the second finishing S1600. Close battle between jimakos, LCD and JTLarsen for the final points positions with only 24 seconds separating the three of them at the rally's close.
