Actually, I'm kinda new to Nascar, but I can't help but wonder -- how many other times has a car slid across the finish dirty side up?

Sadler in 04 I believe, flipped upside-down at Talladega in the Fall across the finish line, but that was on asphalt. then he flipped back over

Oh dear - I have another question but because of your name Harvick#1 I hope it doesn't create a war here.
How come the yellow flag didn't come out?
Kudos to both Harvick (who I'm definitely going to be watching more of); and to Mark Martin for being cool about it at the end there too.

caution came out after they crossed the line.

I'm not a Nascar official so I could only guess, that since the wreck was off the track, and Mark and Kevin both had the wreck cleared, why not allow them race back for the win, its the Daytona 500

Okay thanks, and fair and true enough I think. Honestly, that's the first Daytona 500 I've watched but no doubt, I'll watch more! Harvick seems to know what he's doing all right; I like Clint Bowyer's driving too and I always cheer for Kyle Petty just because I like what I've seen of who he is and what he does for others. Thanks for the info.

They threw the caution when the 07 flipped over even though the wreck had occurred long before then. Now, in any other circumstance NASCAR would've thrown the yellow - even on the GWC - and ended the race when the 5 spun out, but they didn't this time. Makes you wonder...
