with the IRL headed to south america.....and with the above listed on indycar.com... as well as multiple commercials during broadcasts it seems the are shaping up to be a player as the IRL re-evolves

so who are they exactly?
what role will they play?
is this a good thing?

thoughts?
discussion?

Its a good thing if it brings in Brazilian sponsors, and the teams can find ways to make money out of that trip south. It is bad if the events don't make money for anyone and espeicially the teams.

It's their coordinated government effort to market their industries world wide. If it returns a lot of Brazilian sponsors that also allow GOOD quality drivers that teams enjoyed in the CART days, I see it as a good thing. Unfortunately(maybe fortunately?), our department of commerce doesn't exactly work that way or promote itself in that manner.

I found it somewhat ironic last week passing the Indycar haulers, while driving through North Dakota, passing all the strip coal mines and coal plants, oil pumps, corn fields and ethanol plants, wind farms and stations selling E85, that they are heavily sponsored by a foreign government agaency directly competing with all of that domestic energy production. Kinda sad actually.

It seems to be a good deal. I would like to see Apex bring in some car sponsorships though for some Brazilian companies looking to expand into the US.

As many drivers that have done so well in the sport, I wonder why we don't see a team founded or owned by a Brazilian group. of course right now is not the right time. But was there ever? Was Mo Nunn brazillian influenced back in the day?
