I heve been to alot of WRC events, but my friend and I fancy a trip to Ireland to watch some rallying, tarmac or anything. Im looking for a well attended rally, 70 cars plus, and some wrc cars through to the smaller stuff would be good. If you lot could point us in the right direction to a website, or anything, that would be good.

It would be nice if the rally is not too far from an airport, as we would fly from stansted and hire a car. And the rally can be later this year, or next, winter or summer, we love it all :)

Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

Alex.

The last round of the irish tarmac champ is in cork the first weekend of october.. there is a airport in cork that has laods of flights...

it should get about 10 or so WRCs and have a full entry of 150+ cars...

Its based in the city but the stages about 30 mins outside the city...

as its the last round there will be loads of battles going on.

Ill be heading down anyway :D

here is the link to the tarmac championship :http://www.irishtarmac.com/

In the last 3 years I went to the Donegal Rally, the Galway Int. Rally, the Rally of the Lakes and the WRC-event. They were all great rallies. But at that time there were over 20 WRC cars competing.

From Stansted you can fly Ryanair to Shannon. Then it's not so far to Galway. Or fly to Kerry for Rally of the Lakes

http://www.rally.ie is probably what you are looking for.

The best championship is the Tarmac Championship (http://www.rally.ie/index.php?topic_id=tarmac_chp), the National Championship (http://www.rally.ie/index.php?topic_id=national_chp) usually has entries between 100 and 150, but less competitive and less of the big WRC's.

Northern Ireland has a championship too. Check out http://nirally.com/

If you indicate when you are thinking of travelling people on here could be more specific with their advice.
