I like Finland but am not familiar with it in mirror mode. I do love the flow these stages have, and the speed. Its a really enjoyable rally when you have a solid, uninterrupted rhythm. But not when you push too hard and end up in the trees! I think the Focus will go well here

Agreed on all points, teammate.

I'll be careful here, unless I get totally drawn into the stages as often happens.

What's a good Polish vodka as a secondary sponsor?

I'm not a big vodka fan, though I do love Polish beer. Tyskie would be a favourite of mine. Also Lech and Budvar.

Sorry for missing last round. I have to move my flat now, so I was bussy with searching for some other suitable flat. Btw Budvar is a Czech beer. But I don't mind, I like wine, despite of every Czech is drinking beer.

Count me In too, for Polish rally!

Here's my shakedown times:
1st pass: 00:56.26
2nd pass: 00:55.48
3rd pass: 00:55.60
4th pass: 00:56.34

Mirrored stages aren't my favourite, but I'm glad they exist
as they give the game a new perspective!
It's more than obvious that gearbox and suspension settings
will define the winner!
It's a risky rally though, because you have to be at
high speeds most of the time!

Good luck everyone!

I have just finished rally Poland and I’m really proud of myself.
I didn’t have any problem with mirrored stages,so made a very good race!!
Practice, set up and some other mystics helped me to run this rally with access.
I can’t know your times but I think I’m between 3-5th position.
Don’t forget last time I predicted my position!!
I wish good luck to everybody.
Bye from beautiful Greece!

What rally was it where Hirvonen botched it on a SSS when he was with Subaru? Japan?

It was a gravel event...

I really enjoyed Rally Poland!

Smooth, wide, fast, with spectacular jumps...
Technically, the event was a difficult one!
Changing car set up almost every 2 stages, helped a lot!
I feel I did my best here, though 'nightstage nightmare'
gave me a really hard time!

Looking forward to results!

Here the current shakedown standings for those interested:

1. Jimakos 54.76
2. Mithus 54.91
3. Tannat 55.05
4. LCD 55.48
5. Paddy 56.76

I struggled with the setup badly. It was difficult to find a fully suitable setup for the stage. My top time came with gearbox +1 and Steering +2 (the rest were standard.) Though sometimes I found putting the power ratio towards the rear helped find the fastest line through corners. The stage itself was very unfamiliar in mirror mode.

52Paddy
30th June 2009, 21:54
The rally was much more difficult than expected. Had this been run in normal mode (as opposed to mirror), then I'm certain I could have had more competitive times. I really didn't expect that the reverse version of these stages would be so unfamiliar. After the shakedown, I still hadn't got a 100% finalised setup, so I was trying to suss out the car on the opening stages. I did eventually settle into a setup that was fairly ok, though still not 100%. My day times were far from impressive though some of my sector times were pretty good. The speed was there, but the knowledge of the stages and the car wasn't. I made a few mistakes throughout. Day 2 felt better. I really pushed the car on the first 3 stages but, oddly, the times were pretty much equal to that of the first day. That was disappointing.

On the plus side, all but two stages were dry for this rally. However, the wet stages (final loop of day 1) really threw me into a dilemma. I opted for dry mud tyres (forecast for loop was: cloudy->rain->cloudy) but the rain came earlier and lasted longer than expected. I found that, with those tyres in those conditions, it was like driving a front wheel drive car!

Nonetheless, looking forward to the results. A top 8 would be optimistic so I'd settle for a healthy points haul for my Richard Burns Trophy campaign.

Had a great run on these stages....my final stage time (SS18) made me smile - you'll see why. Been using these stages a while in the IRC and testing for that so even mirrored it didn't seem too bad.

Looking forward to seeing the results..hoping to be a bit closer to Marcel this time around!!!!!

I finished rally Poland anyway, so hopefully it will count. the rally itself went pretty well, not as fast as I would have hoped but it should still be fast enough to be clos for a new win.

Great rally for me! :)
I'm very pleased with 6th place ( +0.77 !!! ) behind jso!
Wow, this must be the highlight of the season so far! ;)

Judging from overall results, this time there was some
bloddy competition from top to bottom of leaderboard!
Not an easy win for Hommer, great battles for 3rd place
and this +0.77 difference between 5th and 6th, made
this event to remember It for a long time!!!

Gongratulations to all drivers, crews and teams...
It's been a 'real' pleasure!

My distance to Mithus is enough but I’ll do my best to catch him in the next race.
Bravo LCD for your 6th position.
