At thistime it has been that FIA-PresidentMax Mosley will resign in October this year! :p
The news came after a meeting about formule 1.
The formula 1 seems saved of the perdition. The international motorcar federation FIA and the FOTA, the association of teams which threatened start a pirate serial on, has reached a peace agreement.

Whilst I hope Max doesn't seek re-election, I will beleive it when I see it. Crack cocaine addicts would find it easier to kick their habit than power mad individuals would find it to give up their power and influence.

Yeah right! The day that happens I might retain that high level of interest I used to have for the WRC. Until then, I'll just ignore most rallies until NORF.

I hope it will happen, and I think it will happen. Now all kinds of media including FIA press release are reporting the resignation of Mosley. I hope it will result in a good consequence for both Formula One and WRC.

As FIA and FOTA just made an agreement, Max Mosley will not be candidate on next election - a FOTA's condition for such an agreement.

Probably he retires to start using again his "leather" clothes....Just like Michael Schumacher.

Seriously, who wears leather pants in Abu Dhabi?

For me it doesn't matter, this change. I'm sure that who will replace him, will have the same flavour.

Milk instead of Champagne in podium ceremonies? :p

Yes, why not? He's in finn parlament as KKK, isn't? So I think that he's able to manage that kind of play that take part in the meetings with FOTA, ISC or whatever.

Whoever it is surely can't be any worse than Max, can it? Somebody who will stand up to Bernie - as since Max has been in power all the rival series to F1 have gone to pot - WSC, WRC, WTCC, etc

If you take his whole career as FIA president, Mosley was hardly an improvement over Balestre.
The name that sings around a lot is Jean Todt. That is one guy who knows his way around all of motorsports, but at the same time in bed with F1.

No he is not in Finnish parlament nor is KKK. Vatanen was in European Parlament but was elected from France. He tried to get in Europen Parlament this year from Finland but wasn't elected. Nor was KKK before.

This will be an interesting one. Am I totally wrong if I've understood that from FOTA, the support is for Vatanen due Todt's former strong relationship with Ferrari ??

Vatanen would be ideal choise but I'm not sure if he as capable for the job as Todt is... I mean, I trust Todt would get the job done. Vatanen might not.

It's a precarious position to juggle between different sports, manufacturers, national interests and fans. Whoever will take up the job will get his share of dirt flung at him quite soon. Mark my words.

motorsport is not half of the position.

There is a foundation and a whole lot of other areas where the FIA operates.

Having a motorsport background doesn't give the right qualifications alone.

Exactly, that's why Vatanen's political experience from European Parlament speaks for him.

But I agree fully with jonkka. Whoever gets chosen, every skeleton from the closet will be revealed.

rally world isn't influenced by Bernie :p :

Are u sure about it? Ecclestone was the TV and commercial rights-holder of WRC until April 2000, when he sold ISC to Richards & Co! :D
