I'm fairly sure that Vettel had undone his belts during the slowing down lap yesterday. Now given Loeb's penalty in the WRC I was wondering if F1 had similar rules stopping you from releasing the harness until the car has stopped?

All I can find in the regs is

14.4 Safety belts :
It is mandatory to wear two shoulder straps, one abdominal strap and two straps between the legs. These
straps must be securely fixed to the car and must comply with FIA standard 8853/98.

See this. I think from old hockenheim in 1997 . fisi sat like this for more than half way around the lap.

Fisi complied with the regs in 1997. He had both hands securely on the intake box :D

Damn straight knockie, damn straight. F1 cars have become uglier as more bits were stuck onto them by over-enthusiastic aero departments :(

the bigger rear wing made it look perfect with simple front wings

Is that as close as Fisi has come to his dream of driving for Ferrari F1? :p

And the ones at the beginning of the 90's were even more beautiful. :)
