I think the sun is supposed to burn out in a billion or so years so maybe the rogue planet won't be able to find us in the dark.

Well the Sun is estimated to last for another 4 billion years, but due to changes in the Sun's internal structure it will increase its luminosity to such an extent that in 500 million years time all the water will have been boiled off of Earth.....

You're all forgetting that the Andromeda galaxy is due to collide with our own in in 3 billion years or so. So stuff watching two planets crash, thats small cheese! :D :D
