In my opinion RALLY ACROPOLIS is the best of the best!!!!
I'm not telling that because I'm Greek but stages in Greece are magnificent.
I love them :p
Unfortunately exams don't permit me to go but nevermind!!

I wish luck to everybody guys

One slight problem guys...

If you wanna race under the same team (GR Motorsports) you need to use the same car.
Also if using 3 drivers or more you need to nominate two that will be available to score team points

Yes, the suspensions seem to be crucial, plus a short gear box for short stages could help...
What about brake strength? Have you noticed any difference with brakes set a bit stronger than default?

Anyway, It's amazing how the set up affects performance...
RBR has realistic set up too, but you have to be an engineer to work It out! :D
In cmr2, It's more practical I'd say...

Acropolis rally started ideally for me:
Good feeling of the car, fast rhythm, no serious mistakes...
That was untill ss7, where I had a close encounter with that church!
On ss8, misheard a pacenote and lost some more secs.
On ss9, attempted a risky cut and damaged the steering!
I struggled to finish ss10, but there was worse to come:
s.s.s. was a total carnage! The most disappointing performance of the event!

Day 2 was a lot better, with improved times and no serious mistakes!
But I guess, day 1 was defining for my overall results...

At least, Acropolis once more confirmed its 'car-breaker rally' title!
Had really great time though and loved the Day1-expert / Day2-Intermediate format!
Good Inspiration jso1985!

That's all from me! Good luck to those still running!
See you In Poland!

Rally Acropolis was the best rally I have driven so far!!
Before about a month I had run again Greek stages but in IRC (I love it)
and it was an excellent experience .But a lot of mistakes cost me several seconds and generally I was in a low speed condition.
This time with my favorite car of Mikko Hirvonen I changed!
Understanding that set up is very useful I had to change it and also I had a whole week to prepare. Finally, everything went great and I made some unbelievable (for me and I hope to you) times!!
In my opinion, I’m between 3-7th position but can’t be sure, WRC is so unpredictable.
Jso1985 thanks for the opportunity to run in WRC.I enjoyed it a lot.
Good bye from beautiful Greece!!

I was very nice rally with very hot weather. First day was for our team great...only small mistakes and good times on stages. But second day was absolutely horrible. I was very tired because of high temperature and lost concentration and made a lot of mistakes. But...it is rally. Good luck to others. ;)

Done my rally....very good event, Day 1 was quick maybe a litter error here or there but overall felt really good. Day 2 was much the same bar one mistake entering a hairpin that lost a few seconds when I missed a gear, changing up instead of down!

52Paddy
16th June 2009, 22:53
My times are in. The Focus is so much more stable than the Citroen/Seat was. Its much easier to point into the apex of a corner at speed and let it flow through the stages. Quite a good rally for me, if unspectacular in parts.

Day 1 was a little difficult at the beginning because, other than the shakedown, I had went straight from tarmac to gravel, which was a surface I'd forgotten the intricies of. :p : Having done 5 shakedown runs (a best of 1:22.65 with some errors in a few corners though) I decided on running the following setup: Suspension -5, Brakes +2 and the rest at default. I made a few errors on the first day, but I believe I was quick on some stages too and maybe even in the top 8, if I can be so bold! But a spin on one of the stages, an overshoot at the beginning of SS9 or 10 (can't remember exactly) and stuggling badly with gear-change on the super-special will certainly affect my standings on the overall leaderboard.

Day 2 was good too. Again, a consistant run across all the stages with an odd mistake thrown into the mix. Mistakes which include hitting that bloody church on SS7 (didn't hit it on day 1, surprisingly!)

So I'm generally satisfied with this performance and I'm certain the arrival of our new baby Focus is an step forward for the team. :D It would truly be a blessing if both cars scored points on its debut, but even if that doesn't happen, I'm still very pleased with my driving today and the car and rally overall.

Interesting how close the shakedown times were for the top 4. I believe with more practice, my times could get into the 1:19 range at least. Despite those times, its a very short stage and difficult to judge any result from this.

...Despite those times, its a very short stage and difficult to judge any result from this.

Paddy, don't forget that In shakedown mod, we all have the right
to run the stage again and again, untill we get the lowest times,
while after start of rally, rules don't allow to repeat any stages or restart rally!
So, we might see some surprises, as nervousness can cause any kind of mistakes for anyone! ;)

I have finished rally greece and it was great. Its really enjoyable to attack these stages fully and get them just right. Beside some small mistakes we had a very good rally and set some competative times. Don't know if it'll be enough for victory though as I think Homer will be very fast here as well.

A good, but not great rally for us..

Set some PBs, and off 4 seconds from PB on some stages.

Great being in the Ford. Hoping for a good team showing from Fine Wine Motorsports :D

hey guys, seems like I have an excuse all the time right? :s

Well, I was all day and afternoon in observation in a hospital due having a suspicious case of AH1N1 flu which turned out to be regular flu, thankfully.

But now I lost my free afternoon which I was going to use to work on the results, so they won't be available until tomorrow.

thanks for your patience

my samples are still on the lab, but the probable infection "source", a classmate who was two weeks ago in the area of the country that has AH1N1 cases and had flu symptoms had also only regular(H1) flu after lab testing.
So all contacts with flu, including me, have been released from the hospital.

Good to know none in my class is actually a pig, regardless what my female classmates say :p

Hey- if either of them are positive ask them to see if they can go sneeze on some pigs and duplicate what happened in Canada..

Then go find some migratory birds, or domestic birds and do the same

Some great battles seen In dusty and hot Acropolis!

Wow, just 20 seconds between 8th and last! I'm slightly disappointed that I missed out on overall points by just 2 seconds, well done LCD  I look forward to more battles like this throughout the year. We had a very close battle in the last IRC round too

Congrats to tannat on bringing a fine points haul for the team in this round and, of course, to the winner, Marcel.

I'm going to try and challenge for the Richard Burns Cup this year. I'm a bit behind, having missed some rounds, and I don't have the pace to match Blade69 or PS29 on most rallies. But if I can consistently finish there/thereabouts, I think its not too optimistic to aim for a top 3 in the cup. :)

I’m very pleased of taking 6th position. It’s my personal record in this forum.
Congratulations to Marcel Haenen,Homer and Blade69.It seems they have their own championship!!
Mithus,Tannat and me were enough close in times but far away from 3 first.
Jso1985 and LCD close the qualification with pretty good times!
I’m also glad to see LCD in 8th position because we belong to the same team (GR Motorsports).

See you in Poland!!!!

jso1985
21st June 2009, 19:38
The Colin McRae cup is for drivers who haven't won a race in the previous seasons, points are given the same way as in the regular championship

The Richard Burns cup is for drivers who haven't scored a podium in the previous seasons, points are given the same way as in the regular championship.

Wins and podiums scored this season does not eliminate you from the cup
