Apparently Carl Breeze was suspected to have broken his leg - now confirmed as not the case.
Mark Proctor has sustained a back injury, which whilst not one that will affect his day to day life has ended his racing career for fear of causing further damage.
I was at Oulton over the weekend and would like to say how impressive the team of officials and marshals were who removed the two drivers from the vehicles.

Shame to hear about Mark but he's lucky to get away with just that looking back at the accident. Not a nice thing to see but top job from the marshals as ever.

Sickening accident. Proctor looked like a sitting duck after that spin, hoping he wouldn't get T-boned.
Glad all is well except bumps and bruises.
Big shout to the marshals who once again proven to be unsung heroes of motorsport.

Seconded.
That is probably the worst accident i've ever seen on the BTCC tour package in recent years, glad to hear both drivers are OK but i also hope it does'nt mean the end of Proctor's career, a good driver and genuinely nice guy.
FYI, having spoken to Mark, he is at home and recovering. He has a broken vertibrae and will be in a bodycast for sometime.
He has severe bruising and a broken finger, breathing is not easy atm due to chest bruising.
Mark is Mark and won't let things keep him down for too long.
He fully intends to attend his local circuit(croft) as a spectator.
He tells me that he has made the decision not to race again and IMO it is a wise decision.
I'm sure if you see him at croft he will tell you the rest.

good decision not to race again for a while, if i was in the same position as Mark I would have chosen not to race to especially as that was a scary incident to happen to both drivers. how long do you think it will ake Mark to get back into racing again after this?

Caught the interview yesterday between the two on ITV4, Proctor will retire for good.
Thanks for your contribution to British motorsport. You've been a great competitor.
