Aston Martin will reportedly enter Formula 1 from 2012. The new team, which will be launched in 2010, will participate as Prodrive, and will be rebranded as Aston Martin in 2012.
According to Autocar, the decision was taken following an agreement with F1 rights holder Bernie Ecclestone late on 28 May. The publication, citing David Richards, the chief executive officer of Prodrive, says Aston Martin has two large backers for its F1 activities, one being the OEM's owner, Investment Dar.
