The Toyotas have been very visible so far! Contact for both Waltrip (with Ernhardt Jr) and Allmendinger (Robbie Gordon). AJ and Gordon is out.

I've watched the replays, Michael pushed off the turn & I don't believe it was intentional. :D

The difference is that Robby Gordon is in the top 35 in 2006 owner's points.
Robby Gordon will have to go to a back-up car but he IS in the Daytona 500 ! :s mokin:

i don't think it was intentional to spin Earnhardt, but i'm sure Waltrip knew the importance of getting back into that hole. the push might have contributed to the move not working as well as Waltrip intended.

djarumdudley
15th February 2007, 21:26
wonder if Ragan's back-up will be as good as the primary. the six team's speedway back-ups usually aren't as good, or at least that what Mark Martin would lead onto.

I thought I was going to throw up when I saw Hylton was about to qualify.

I think the Mikey-Junior incodent was the result of a new spotter and not intentional.

Cindy_AL
15th February 2007, 21:58
Boris Said claimed the second transfer spot, meaning he doesn't have to use his qualifying time (which already guaranteed him a spot) to get in. That allows David Reutimann to get in on speed.

it would have been quite the paradox if Hylton made it and Waltrip going home, and an incredible story.

So that means
55 M Waltrip in on race position
60 B Said in on race position
00 D Ruetimann now in on speed
44 Jarrett in champ provisional (and B Elliott out ;-(

36 J Mayfield next fastest, waiting results for race 2.

That's not an incredible story. That would only justifly claims that NASCAR is racing for senior citizens.

And I'm glad you like the signature.

Alot of people have criticised Mikey over the years as being over-rated. Today he showed me what Dale Earnhardt Sr saw in him when he recruited him for DEI. That was a fantastic drive in a car he had never even sat in before the race. Way to silence the doubters today Mikey!
Also am really pleased David Reutimann will make the line up. This guy has alot of talent and will surprise alot of people this year.
Got to feel sorry for Mike Bliss though. He drove a brilliant last few laps and was robbed of a rightful place in the 500 by NASCAR's ridiculous top 35 ruling. Guys like Robby Gordon and others do not deserve to be in this race ahead of Bliss based on speedweeks so far.
Nice run for Ken Schrader as well. Just shows there is life in the old dogs yet.

don't see how you couldn't see it as an amazing story. take away the age and only factor in the monetary difference in the teams. that would have been cinderella alone. whether Hylton should be there at all is a matter of opinion. the effort compared to the hugely corporately sponsored teams and how close he was is to making it is worth noting.

Jonesi
15th February 2007, 22:29
Yes it COULD have been a Cinderella story, but some of us looked at the situation and started to get Neil Bonnett deja vu.

djarumdudley

the Bonnett situation is understandable, though i think if Hylton did make it his spot would have been bought.

Vickers wrecks, Red Bull is out.

Ouch, for a team that already was screwed since they don't have owner points they're really screwed now. I bet this is something to get used to, though, from Red Bull this season.

didn't see the races, doesn't look like I missed much, going after looking at teh Lineup I knew Gordon was going to win race 2 because the only real threat was Harvick, but I don't know what happened to him today, looks like hes gonna be starting near the back. and for stewart, you knew he was gonna win if you watched the Bud Shootout. it was typical 150 results with Jr. and the big names always up their.

Now the big thing out of all of this is fact that Stewart has won two of the three races at Daytona so far this week. He won the Shootout and he won his Duel - I'd have to say that he's the best bet to win on Sunday.

it doesn't matter, as long as Hermie Sadler is not in the rear of the field.

Harvick remember started deadlast in both Bristol races in spring of 05 to win, so it can be done easily :D plus he went from 20th to 1st in 5 laps in the Shootout. so Qualifying really means nothing. just excitement of him coming through the field.

Harvick has the worst luck in the 150 races anyway.
