Many UK members will know that Hirvonen is having a MK2 Escort built for Historic rallying which will hopefully be seen on some rounds of the BHRC later this year. This is a link to the site of the company that is building it for him showing the car in various states of build. Pity about the number plate it nearly reads Loeb!

Mikko is little late. JML makes his debut in historic rallies next weekend in Lahti historic rally with his fathers Ford Escort RS1800.

That is the event people need to get over to watch. Forget RallyGB......

True that. I went for the first time last year and it was great to be at something which felt like rallying used to be rather than the jazzed up adventure playground that the WRC has become. OKay so the cars weren't so fast on the RAC but there were proper stages and the event runs all over the place. Standing in Twiglees, able to watch without being guarded by plastic tape, it was the way that the sport should be

Sorry to disappoint everyone but I thought the organisers of the Roger Albert Clark Rally had filed for bankruptcy a few weeks ago, and that there would be no rally this year.

The organisation indeed went into administration but I believe that the rally is still planned to go ahead as it isn't completely reliant or something. I dunno really, maybe it's like the whole Southampton FC/Southampton Leisure Holdings thing, either way I'm pretty sure that the intention was to go ahead :)

Good if it is running. Just that I had heared that there was some doubt. Hopefully not as the UK Historic rally scene is keeping rallying going in UK this year it seems, judging by entry lists.

The new "historic" MK2's are really something else with the gold leaf heat dissapating covering in the engine bay etc. Works cars never looked this good back in the day!

If the RAC is not on the agenda then are we likely to see him in the UK at all this year?
