I would be interested in seeing his return, especially if F1 is more or less a spec series in 2010. JV was never going to get along with electronic car controls (driver's aids) and doing away with slick tires pretty much put him out of it. Now the aids are gone and slicks are back and if I had a team, especially one of the Lola-Cosworth packages, I'd ask him to test.

Would he really be quicker than what he showed from 2004-06?

what he not getting the hot chicks with nascar status

with the new f1 regulations car set up would have changed

and 3 years not driving in f1 i think the new teams will go for one experienced driver and one young driver

Isn't he like almost 40? Too old for today's F1.

I'm not a JV fan by any means, but F1 cars are swinging back to just how he likes them. If he honestly felt he still had the skills to drive F1 and I was a new team, I'd let him test. I'd have nothing to lose by giving him a shot. JV would probably love the chance to drive by the pit wall with the middle finger on display.

Hiring a 39-y-o [i](which he will be next year) driver, who hasn't driven in F1 for ages is too much of a gamble for any team on the grid. And if any team would like a vastly experienced driver for their line-up, I suppose they would prefer someone like Barrichello, Trulli, Fisichella, etc, who are not only a few years younger, but have also freshly raced in F1 cars.

"I was talking with [former race engineer] Jock [Clear] and his comments were that the cars would suit me. "

I'd love to have heard the full conversation. "These cars would suit you. Shame you're too old and hopeless. Never mind".

Jacques won't be back. You heard it here... for about the ten thousandth time.

You can do better than that .

You're just upset right now , that you weren't invited onto Vijay's yacht , too .
Here's a tip for you . You might get a scoop if you call up Jock .

10,000 and one. JV was 'alright' at his peak but as he showed in his return at Sauber he is a long long long long way from his best.

Yes, we are all upset. That is why we don't think JV is returning.

JV wouldn't mind a return.......

...... and I wouldn't mind a Ferrari, more money than I can burn and a woman with certain tendancies that can't be mentioned on a family forum.

Neither is likely to happen any time soon.

I don't see why Jacques shouldn't drive next year. He's not forgotten how to drive a car quickly, and with slick tyres and no electronics I think he would rise to the challenge and do pretty well.

I thought he had forgotten how to drive a car quickly, hence the reason he was shown the door in the first place. There's no reason to suggest he has found the speed in his years off, either. Some former drivers retire gracefully, while others just can't seem to let go. Too old and too long out of the sport.

Yeah, an almost 40 year old guy coming back after almost 4 years of no driving and added to that, he never was that impressive anyways. For sure he would not embarrass himself :D :D :D

Hondo

Thats ok, he likes to embarrass himself.

1999, 2003 and 2004 were good examples of that.

I don't understand the "strop city" part of the comment .

Do you honestly think JV would be "biatch" to anyone ?
Alonso would be pushed and pushed hard to stay ahead .

I remember some made by the drummer from Quicksilver that had Richard Nixon's face in a King Tutt head dress .
Good , but not 2 days good .

Acid days are long gone , but JV isn't .
