Well i'm aiming to get to the race course about 4:30, it depends when all the other people i'm meeting arrive and when we head off. You can't miss my Corsa though as it's got mc-video stickers on it

From the main carpark you head down hill and the first spot will be either a left or right 90 depending on the way the stage is being run. The descent is steep downhill over a couple of crests so you will be easily able to see who is on it. Will be popular though and access is limited as this is the main speccie area and therefore tends to attract the casual speccie/hoodie brigade who have no concept of where is a safe place to stand. From the main point you can walk up the side of the hill from where the cars are coming for about half a mile to a good tight bend or right to a decent 90 right.

Read elsewhere that Portland is very dodgy PR wise so to save it being lost to rallying can people not head there but one of the other stages!

Went to Thieves Wood first and arrived after the first 20 or so 1400s had gone through. Was just getting the camera out of the bag when an MG ZR locked up and went off in front of me and felled a stout lad on the inside of the bend ( I was about 5 yards further back). It was more of a trip on his part but the car helped him on his way. He was fine but the ambulance was called which caused a delay. His mates seemed to think it as hilarious and were saying the footage would be on You Tube tonight. Saw him as was walking out of the stage and looked none the worse.

Perhaps aswell that I went to the 1st stage bearing in mind the top 10 carnage as next stop was Blidworth and no Burton, O'Brien, Hunter etc and big delays in all 3 fields. Think I might have got a bit of heat stroke as feel a bit wobbly now so photos to follow!

Yes I saw the red pug that rolled in the previous stage to use, was looking very bent when he passed us and they then proceeded to go off again by driving over the bank where I was

Glad to hear the speccy seems to be ok. It was a bad weekend for spectator incidents with the accident at the Abingdon Carnival.

How gutting is that. To roll is bad enough, but that slowly has to be so frustrating! Im guessing they continued? :)

Funny how easily that Micra seems to go over it has a habit of doing that though as it rolled on the somerset last year as well. It did continue came past me on the next corner very little damage.

Yes the Micra continued we eventually got the car back onto all 4 wheels, but it then required a bump start as the battery was flat.

Here's my highlights video anyway - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlkSw1rDfvg

The Dukeries is good for FWD sidewaysness! Smooth stages with fast straights before 90rights and 90lefts.

Would really like to do this event one day!

Only found out this morning, had no idea, and I'd had a really enjoyable day. Terribly shocking news, I've seen him in his Nova many times.
