I might be going as I might not be able to get to a rally for ages after that. Depends on funds really :)

Had a good day yesterday. Shame there was so many retirements for the second run through Chrycan but some of the very sideways action through the hairpins made up for it. Also a shame Burton didnt make it in the end, he must be getting so frustrated with the reliability :(

What are you talking about? The only event scheduled to do the second run of Crychan was the National Rally and that had the grand total of two retirements prior to the stage plus one in it.

lol well the people and marshals next to me said that there was a hell of alot less nationals through than the first run. And as I was unaware of where the cut off between nationals and clubman was I obviously wrongly believed them lol :)

Because of the low entries in the Nationals, the Clubmen were seeded among the Nationals on the Stages were they both ran. So for Crychan in the morning there were about 54ish cars.
However, for the second run, it was only the Nationals - and that was about 20 cars, which is a shame.

It had nothing to do with the number of entries; it was always intended to run the two events with merged seeding.

Oh right, I stand corrected, but that was what i was told - there had been something in MNews about it apparently.

The Clerk of The Course rang me to discuss the possibility in February so it was under consideration long before there was any idea of the likely level of entries.

I just realised that you have Tynemouth Computer Services in your sig. The times that are put up on NERS have become a fantastic tool while out on a rally, especially with the rise in internet enabled phones and Blackberries etc.

Thanks but that isn't quite right. NERS is North East Rally Services run by Ron Jackson ably assisted by George Brown. They are good friends of mine and licence our results software. When they are doing results for an event they are published at http://www.nersresults.co.uk. When Tynemouth Computer Services (which is myself and David James) are doing results they are published at http://www.tynecomp.co.uk (except for BTRDA events where they are published on the BTRDA web site at http://www.btrdarally.com).

Aaah right, I've just grown used to seeing the name at the bottom of NERS, only just looked to see that it's software by you :D I'm pretty sure that I've used all 3 of the sites you mention, generally marvelling at the effort which must go into them :D

Where were you videoing from in the stage as I couldnt find anywhere decent and ended up (after being pelted by rocks and covered in dust) back at the speccy area.

The Historics video was filmed at Junction 12, and the national video was filmed prior to junction 12.
