The Curse of the Turtle?

Clint Bowyer crashed hard Saturday night, ending his consecutive streak of races without a DNF at 83.

Earlier this year, Kevin Harvick blew his engine and crashed hard at California ending his streak of consecutive races without a DNF at 82.

Therefore, Herman "The Turtle" Beam keeps his Nascar record of 84 races without a DNF intact.

So, Is there a "Curse of the Turtle"? Maybe the ghost of Herman Beam is wrecking these guys when they get close! :eek: :D ;)

I like that theory. Apparently the Turtle was a very careful driver who never was close to ever being competitive. That sounds like the kind of guy who would resent some hard chargers like Harvick or Bowyer breaking his record!!!

I think tho this record will fall eventually. The new car is so tough and you rarely see engines fail anymore. More guys finish more races all the time....
