BTW I don't know if I'm really stupid or have discovered something great. But under Advanced Graphics there is an option for Resolution. Mine was previously 640x512 or something, but after changing it to 1280x1024 all my graphics were much clearer. I can't believe I've been playing it so long with awful graphics when they could be really good. Oh well...I'm now enjoyin it much more.

Not entirely looking forward to this...erm....challenge! Snow tires on gravel is difficult enough without having to use the PS1 version of the game and, thus, the joypad. My bad result in the recent Rally Argentina may only reflect my performance here I fear. So I'll be back in the C2 (Corolla with 100% FWD.)

I've found the snow tyres are alright - I'm always rubbish at Greece and I'm only about 3 secs of my PBs on the recce.

After running the shakedown for a couple of times, snow tires don't seem to work out for me... :hmh:
I feel the car's slidding (too much than usual), bit of unstable and hard to control...
(Though I consider myself good on gravel surfaces).
Not to mention, the sparks car's making at almost every bumpy part of the stage!
I'd better spend some more time with the set up...

I guess that's what Tannat had on his mind;to Increase the difficulty level for this rally!

Nevertheless, I should practice more before the rally, otherwise Rally Acores will be harder than expected!

I started feeling a bit more confident on snow tires...

I just finished Sata Rally Acores and I have to admit that It was so
challenging but so exciting at the same time!

After a dreamy start , bad luck hit me at s.s 7 , where I almost risked everything !
( Who had the bright Idea of building this church In the middle of the special stage??? :D )
From that point, I kind of lost concentration but generally I'm satisfied with my performance ,
taking under consideration that snow tires made this event very tricky!
Stages I enjoyed so much ( I even watched the replay ! ) were s.s 3 and s.s.9!

on SS7 i crashed hard...so i went to SS8 with some problems in the car..but... i'm satisfied with my times

I finished the rally. The car was tricky to drive at points but not as bad as I expected. I quite like driving in S1600 mode. The biggest problem seemed to be under braking and approaching long corners. I lost a few tenths here and there by accidentally taking really wide lines through some of the hairpins. Generally though, I improved with every stage and got more comfortable with the car. My approach to the rally itself was a conservative one. I kept out of trouble, albeit far from setting any considerable times. SS7 was my downfall, and I see now that I'm not the only one. I avoided the church but hit a sign post beside it. I also fell down one of those huge banks.

In conclusion, I'm happy with the rally. I know I was slow but I'm still getting used to this PS version again. I felt comfortable driving the C2 again and believe I can continue to improve. Hopefully I'll be back on the pace (by that, I mean the pace I was setting with the PC version) within the next few rallies. I don't have any real goals for this rally, but to pick up some drivers points for one of the cups would be sweet. It would get me started on some championship campaign. :)

Not bad rally for us....felt pretty quick in places but also made some little errors that cost a bit of time. Still a good few seconds off PBs

Rally was not so easy for me. Skoda Fabia S2000 went nice, despite of winter tyres. But I hadn't done more testing than just few runs on shakedown. Times on stages were not too bad, but I crashed heavily on SS2 and all the rest of rally was a bit nervous.

Rally finished (late!). Very hard to gauge how fast I am in comparison to others. About 3 secs off PBs on most stages - felt very good but don't know how well others adapted. Decided to use the new Fiesta (actually the 2005 Ford as the Puma to confuse everyone!) We'll soon see how it performed...

Dear all,

Apologies for the delay. Rally Boy submitted times of which I was skeptical, so I submitted them for review by three experts whose experience with the game and depth of gameplay recommend them for such a task. Their opinion was unanimous.

I do not believe Rally Boy cheated. I believe his times may have been a result of the same issue as affected someone’s times (PetterSolberg29?) on the Monte or Swedish Rally last year, as well as Steve0302 at some point last year. I encouraged him to reload his game if he wanted to participate in the future.

While it is easy to point fingers at really fast people and say “that can’t be so”, I feel that between the senior people in our group (namely jso1985 and Marcel Haenen) that a great deal of experience as well as access to other resources (tiscali hotlaps-Marcel) serves as a justified foundation for the judgment of whether times are bona fide or not.

Rallyboy, while I don't know what went on behind the scenes, try to not take this personally. With the nature of this championship, its difficult to accept everybody at times. I'm sure it will be resolved and we'll continue to have fun rallying. These things happen at times, but thankfully very rarely.

Same for me though - one particularly large crash ended those hopes. Happy with 4th, wel done Mithus.
