Says Crash.net:

Apparently official confirmation will follow shortly

On the BTCC.net forums a Marshall has said that BARC have emailed everyone saying their attendance is not required

You won't have to wait long.

I gave had an e-mail from the people at "Yourracingcar.com" (running a Ginetta in the support series) advising that they have been notified that Donington has been cancelled.

Damned shame.

The Donington website is saying that the work will be completed by May 21st in time for the MCRCB inspection for the BSB meeting (the weekend after BTCC).

Nothing about the BTCC, and they continue to advertise tickets for sale

That doesn't sound very clever. Neither does this whole saga.

I was wondering why no other site, official included, was reporting.

True, but there was numerous people saying they had seen emails to the teams saying it was cancelled.

Maybe I'll buy my ticket on the door this year just to be safe

That story was posted during this week, but was taken down earlier today, only to be returned tonight!?

Might explain the original rumoured e-mail to the teams?

Most sites only release stories once they have been confirmed.

As the orginal story was not confirmed, I can only assume that is the reason why..

I heard that the event was 100% on. There are so many rumours going about but they seem to be just rumour not fact. I've aleady bought my tickets along with those for my family and can't wait until the 17th.

I think Donginton are possibly making a mistake in trying to keep hosting races while they do the work to the track.

If they were serious about doing the work they'd close everything down so all they have to concentrate on is getting the improvements done. Who wants to go to see a race on a building site anyway?!

I don't see why they need this tunnel anyway? The only day building will be interrupted is the odd Friday when racing is on - no building will take place on Saturday/Sunday anyway?
