BAR finally win on thier debut!

When the BAR team was launched to much fanfare back in the winter of 1998/99 they famously claimed that they were aiming to win their first race in Australia in 1999. What followed was a début season of poor performance, poor reliability and zero points. The team then over years gradually improved, finally winning a race in 2006. It then became Honda in 2007, went rapidly downhill from there leading to Honda pulling the plug on thier works F1 program and over the winter the team became Brawn GP who won in Australia, so 10 years to the race what was BAR finally win their début race!!

Brawn also have a tenuous link to the constructors whos records they equalled this weekend. Pole first time out (Tyrrell, whos FOCA membership BAR bought) and 1-2 in race and qualifying (Mercedes, engine supplier)

Nah!! This was obviously all about Jackie Stewart's input to the Tyrrell team all those years ago. That's what made this win possible.
