Ok so I am walking to work today. It's a so so day in Chicago. Warm 62 but windy and cloudy. I'm walking by the Park Hyatt Hotel where the Chicago Water Tower is and there is this huge crowd of people, news trucks and banners.... what is in the middle of all the comotion ??? Izod's IRL car !!!!
I was floored ! Here we are on Chicago's Mag Mile, one of the busiest shopping corridors in the world and IZOD has an IndyCar event promoting it's new line of Indy-centric apparel.

WAY TO GO IZOD !!!!

The crowd was big but a little confused at what an IndyCar was but hey they found out right away. IZOD was handing out literature promoting the clothing line and it explained why IZOD dedicated it's new line to the Indy lifestyle.

WHY WHY WHY don't we get more sponsors like this that put money and effort into not only promoting their product but also the Series? Current and long time sponsors have never stepped up the way IZOD has. I think Honda and Firestone are the only sponsors that come close .

And let's get Ryan in a confirmed ride right away.

I am on my way to buy IZOD as soon as possible. THANK YOU IZOD. I hope they are doing this in EVERY major city.

And the car looked awesome !!! I overheard several times, people in the crowd saying how cool it looked.

The Dallara is NOT ugly.

A friend of mine went outlet shopping last weekend and was surprised to see IndyCar ads in the Izod store. I hadn't mentioned it to her, so they must be doing a decent job of in-store promotion if it's in shoppers faces like that. She also asked one of the staff there about it and they said the merchandise would be coming in a few weeks and that yes, it's a big promotion for the company.

I agree that it's typical of the IRL that they suddenly have a big company that's going to spend a ton of money promoting the series, and that company is now left empty-handed with RHR out of a ride. Vision should have had a 2nd car squared away months ago for this, what a bunch of dummies. I know car sponsorship is always a challenge is very expensive in the IRL, but that's no excuse for a deal that would pay out many times over. How about taking Carpenter off the road courses, he's an embarassment out there.
