Well can we wish Eric Carlsson a Very happy Birthday today on his 80th birthday.A great driver,and on the 3or 4 occasions that I met him a nice guy too !

I second that! Eric "on the roof" Carlsson was a great rally driver, perhaps even a greater Saab ambassador with a fantastic personality. Some 15 years ago I was at a Saab media winter drive, and as usual on those occassions, Eric Carlsson was one of he hosts. I happened to end up in his car from the airport to the hotel and it was a great pleasure. He must have been around 65 at the time, but he delivered us in front of the hotel with oppositelocking the Saab 9000 and sliding perfectly to a standstill three metres from the hotel entrance! What a thoroughly good bloke!
