Why do drivers needs to see each other split times in the car?

There is no reason why that I can see....

Fair enough the teams should be able to see the ir driver times etc

Hopefully common sense will return and this will get banned when the new WRC cars come in in 2010/11

I totally agree with your opinion. Stop the split-times inside the cars.

But hard to avoid. If they do not get it electronically the teams can send it via radio !

Maybe they can stop the radio-contact on the stages, only for use in emergency??

It has always happend, and always will. Same as team orders.

maybe they can make do with less splits? Say, just one at the halfway point?

Or go with the 'no contact with the team except in an emergency' rule; review video footage to see if there's a bloke with a sign. No biggie. If the WRC were onto it, onboards of entire stages would be available for download anyway so reviewing footage shouldn't be a problem.
