Does anyone have any facts on the current BTCC spec cars 0-60's top speeds etc? You hear them thrown around willy nilly but sometime's when you actually watch these cars its hard to believe some of what people say, surely they dont accelerate any faster that within the 6 seconds boundary? And how do these compare to the last of the super tourers in 2000?

When you say current BTCC spec cars do you mean BTC or S2000?

the BTCC spec cars had a top speed of around 160mph but they only manage 140mph on the fastest circuit in the UK. they are tuned to about 300bhp and 0-60mph takes just over 5 seconds if you get the clutch just right.

I think its more like 270bhp.

The last supertourers had around 330Bhp

I think the highest S2000 reported figure is around 285bhp

Im sure an AE article expressed that the Vectra was putting out near 300bhp. which is massive from a non turbo petrol 2.0 litre if you think about it.
