Has anyone noticed some of the grandstand locations have changed. My favorite grandstand by Manitoba drive is no longer there. Over the years that grandstand always seemed to be full, and was one of the few grandstands that did not decrease in size. It was also a good deal at around 65 bucks. Although they have added a grandstand at turn 9/10 for 109 bucks.
Also does anyone know what support races are going to be there? The only race I could find is the Indy Pro series. Looks a bit thin on the support races.

The Toronto Indy usually runs about 5 or 6 support races, to the point where the paddock gets too crowded. I remember seeing a F1600 race with 53 starters in it.
The Canadian Touring Championship will most likely run there again. I wish TG would let the Atlantics run there this year.

ROTFL!!! Run what is a historically very popular series in Canada, in front of what is now Canada's only major open wheel event of the year?? YEAH, THAT MIGHT MAKE TOO MUCH SENSE. Hmmm. The MAZDA Atlantics at the HONDA Indy of Toronto... Somehow I don't see that going over very well with Honda. The only hope I see for that is the fact that Forsythe sold it.
Sort of off topic, but I think more of the series are going to have to work together on joint events until things recover subtantially with the worldwide economy. I like the weekends Mazda is putting together and using Atlantics more or less as the headliner for the open wheelers.
The hatchet was finally buried or at least laid down in open wheel. I think sports cars really need to do the same to an extent.

when i went to the Indy of Toronto in 2007, i found it better just to walk around and not be in the grandstands, i found myself some good spots :)

Atlantics will be at Mid-Ohio, which is a Honda-sponsored event and at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Maybe they could bring back the Honda Civic series!

Usually I walk around on the Friday and Saturday, but it is nice to have the big screen for the race.

The Big Screens are nice, but there are plenty of options. Don't pay out the nose if you don't have to.

Atlantic has been excluded from Edmonton, Toronto and Long Beach and replaced by the Lights. I'm not sure how you can say the hatchet is buried. Clearly someone with scheduling power is still wielding it.

This is BS IMO.. The Atlantics are a great series that should have been embraced by Indycar.
Who knows why things are the way things are. It's almost like the split, by not including the Atlantic series. It deserves to race where it has been traditionally with Champcar/CART/Indycar.
I'm a little bitter about some of what I see/don't see going on in the series. Statements that were made, that I have yet to see, and hopefully will see.

The Atlantics WERE a great series, but to be honest I am beginning to wonder if they will even answer the opening bell this year. Their website is dead. The only news we have heard thus far is a new prize fund, but no indication of where the money is coming from. On the IMSA (the FA sanctioning body) website there is a "news" page for FA. It shows Tony Ave racing CONSIDERING participation, Jamie Rand with ASPIRATIONS of running, and Team Stargate as the ONLY confirmed team. All this and the first race on the schedule was stillborn (Savannah) and the next one (Sebring) is only three weeks away.
I have a feeling they were dropped from Edmonton, Toronto and Long Beach for a very REAL reason... they exist only in Ben Johnston's pipe dream. And the promoters of those three races (who by the way are the ones who control the mix of races at the event, not King George) don't want to place a bet on ol' Ben. I don't see any conspiracy by the IRL here at all.

I hope you're right. I felt bad for that series when they were dropped from Long Beach. They deserved to be a part of Indycar.

I expressed misgivings when Johnston took over and it looks like I may have been right. I had hoped Vikki could keep things going. She did for many years but she may have run out of steam. She is no youngster.
Bill O'Connor was one of the first US drivers in the original Players FA series way back in 74.

Sad to hear about how screwed up the Atlantics are. I am ticked IMSA allowed themselves to be put on board a sinking ship....
