Larry H. Miller, the owner of Miller Motorsports Park in Toele, Utah, USA, the site of the US round of the World Superbike Championship, has died of complications of Type 2 diabetes at 64.

I wouldn't have known anything about him until reading this. He was quite a player in sport and a generous human being. It's great to see such a successful individual giving something back. I am sure he will be sadly missed. RIP

In motorsport, Miller Motorsports holds races in both US sportscar formulae, Atlantics, AMA, SBK, and NASCAR Camping World West. (The NASCAR Camping World Series, a developmental series, is similar to the US Supercross format of having an East and West series. Because the East series races at Lime Rock and Watkins Glen, NASCAR had to balance the Camping World West series with races at Infineon and Miller. The Lime Rock and Miller races are feature races.)

The Miller family owns the EnergySolutions Arena, the site of the infamous figure skating judging controversy at the Olympics.
