I'm thinking a certain Two Basses driver will show well on this one :D

I did an early recce today, and I find snow much easier to drive on using a joypad. I've cut my PBs by about 3 seconds per stage!

I've very little experience driving on snow. I struggled particularly on the snow stages on the Monte, although I was very compromised by the tarmac tyres and S1600 settings. I doubt I will have the pace to challenge for honours in the Colin McRae Cup. My goal is to avoid costly mistakes and try to rack up as many points as I can in the McRae Cup.

1:21.65
1:25.49...messed about with set up and then missed some gear changes!
1:21.05
1:20.70

I'm a bit gutted to join the "sorry, I can't make this round" crew. But I'll be moving from home on Wednesday and need to move a lot of my stuff across town between now and then. I still may be able to take part in this rally, but my commitment to the championship may dwindle slightly. I shall keep you updated.

PS: I honestly thought I could attack this year, prior to me going to college in September. But such is life...

Rally Complete - very pleased with 8, yes 8 PBs in total! Haven't competed in a CMR2 snow rally in this championship for ages, so no idea how ell I've done - I'm sure NOR, Homer and Marcel will be ridiculously fast, but I hope to be up there with the big boys.

I managed to squeeze in Day 1 yesterday and will complete the event tonight. So far, so good though...looks like it will be a close rally as they are a few people who go well on the snow!

You dont need to do shakedown. All you need to do is do the rally in expert then intermediate mode, record your times and then fill in the timecard at the very bottom of this page -
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/cmr2wc/files/

Then send it to JSO (his address is in the timecard)

Hope you can make it by Wednseday!

*RED BULL CITROËN UPDATE*

"Jso1985's C4 was caught in a nasty snow storm on it's way to Norway and now the car is in such bad state that has been rendered useless, in response the team HQ has hurried another car from the factory, but as this new C4 hasn't even been tested, both team and driver aren't much confident now on getting a good result here."

What really happened: after 8 years of heavy use, my PS1 copy finally stopped working..., couldn't find a new one on any store, so I had to buy the PC version, no probs there(and the graphics are awesome in the PC version!) but it certainly takes a bit of time to get used... and snow isn't my favourite surface!

now where to get my Citroën skin? :D

As posted before, you don't need to do the shakedown(and if you do you just post the times here).

Now for the rally proper, you run both days as posted on the first post, and you send me your times with or without timecard to [email:1w48bvt2]jso_1985@yahoo.com[/email:1w48bvt2] or via private message here.

Finished my rally! This was a hard one. Usually I do a lot of practice when we are going to play in the snow. This time around there was no time for that, I had to go straight into the competitive rally. I decided to take it on the safe side, no hunting for PB's this time around! This approach resulted in a little bit slower times than last time around but kept us out of big mistakes as well. I am happy with the result, should be good enough for the podium.

To think this time last year we had over 20 entries.....

I guess, the problem is that the young generation doesn't play CMR2 anymore. I was about 16 when started to play CMR. Not sure, but probably our mean age is above 20. We need a global promoter!

To think this time last year we had over 20 entries.....

Perhaps some advertising would be in order!?

Posts could be made on the forums of the national championships.. (Czech, Hungarian etc.)

A single post on the Rallystuff.net simulations forum last year recruited 2 new entries to the BRC (both one time appearences though)

I would gladly display sommer banneradvertising on my CMR2 sites (taking that they are of good quality), as these sites still get a fair amount of hits each month:

http://www.leftovercrest.com/cmr2rallymagazine.html
http://www.leftovercrest.com/cmr2-swedish-rally-banner-mod.html
http://www.leftovercrest.com/cmr2-greece-rally-banner-mod.html

My 2 cents.. :D

This year you may beat me on tarmac, but humiliation?

That might be achieved via some creative livery on your car with slanderous statements and compromising photos.... :p
