Should be a good event, looking forward to seeing the Focus with Impreza running gear.

I cant make sense of the spectator maps at the moment, im guessing its best to head to Dixies corner and go from there?

Spoke to Mr Kynaston earlier in the week and he said that the New Road is out of action because a bridge is down or some such. Basically the event is mostly based around Dixies (and probably the Steps/Burma Road etc.) so reckon that's the best bet.

Seem to remember seeing the Impreza Focus before (or at least something similar) very weird as you hear the noise for one car but the shell isn't right :mark:

Easy, if you come through Sennybridge, for a few miles. You will see the dual carridgeway on your right going up on to the ranges.
You will have to pay at the top. Travel across the ranges another 3 mile or so. Park up with everyone else at Dixies. You can view stages 1,3,4,5,6&7, they all use dixies corner and surrounding stage.

Stage maps are online at ptmconline.com
the stages run from the rifle ranges, copse, steps, dixies, gunpark road, llandeilo r fan, burmah road and the middle road. hairpin at Picadilly and the via german village, fourways out to irish village.
The afternoon stages are a reverse of the morning.
Spectating at the Dixies area you will see every stage.

See you there - Neil Dodd - car 79

first time ,attending, do i follow road past rifle ranges, i suppose i just head for where everyone else has parked, ? i pressume, where you pay stage is repeated? just new to area

I think the only stage you won't see is SS2. Apart from that, parking at the speccy area you will see 6 out of 7 stages.

If you look at the stage maps on the website, then on SS1 Jct 6 is the speccy area. Of course you are free to roam to where ever you want though :D

Is it possible to get some technical information about David Kynaston's Audi?

I think Kynaston's Audi has a Nissan engine, and Skoda Fabia steering wheel with paddle change. More info here

David does work on my car (in fact it sometimes feels like my family have paid for half of the stuff on that car :D ) and is very secretive about the car, most things are met with a variety of nods and grunts :D The majority of the rumours that are placed all over the internet are as false as the ones about Burton's car, certainly all that DTM stuff is a bit far fetched, although if you ask Daid then he will probably say something along the lines of 'it might have some of those bits in there'

Andy Burtons engine, from 2 years ago was an old DTM Cosworth, from an Opel Calibra DTM car. He is now using a production based 2.9 Cosworth, out of a Granada Scroppio.
http://www.peugeot-cosworth.co.uk/

Not sure about Davids Audi.
But his old car used a DTM engine from Audi. It wa placed in the pasanger footwell, for weight distrabution. CoDrive used to sit almost behind the driver.
But he wrote the car off on Epynt, broke his neck, was very lucky.
Can not find mch info on the net about the car.

I had a ride up and down an airfield in the one he wrote off and I certainly wasn't sat behind the driver, the engine was in a simlar position to where it is now, underneath the bulkhead but still in the engine bay. As for the DTM thing, it was a bulls**t rumour that David chose not to confirm or to deny so as to keep everyone guessing about the car. Believe what you want but I can remember watching that car come together from virtually scratch.

Don't know so much about Burtons but I have it on fairly good authority that it isn't too far from having Metro stamped on it :D

Hi mate
when it comes to Davids Audi, im only going on memory, which is not that good. So your probley correct. Just seemed further back than normal.

Andy Burtons Peugeot Cosworth. When it was first built, he used to run a Metro 6R4 engine, but it kept snapping the cam belt.
So a DTM engine was sourced for it. If i rember 2.5 cosworth lump out of a Calibra german touring car. Limited to 2.5l because it was a compition engine.
That proved to be unreliable, and had to be rebuilt after every event.
So they have now installed a production based Cosworth 2.9l.
Have a look at the website. Loads of info pictures Videos.

And this is a very good interview with Mr Burton, just before the Wyedean this year.
