Well check this out and he was so dumb he filmed it himself !!! But the nice guy I am - I like it - everyone should be allowed to be honest.

Britain's Prince Harry will be grilled by top army brass on Monday over his use of racist remarks after a self-filmed video was released showing him calling an army colleague a "Paki" and telling another he looked like a "raghead."

Lawmakers, Muslim groups and the Pakistani public criticized Harry on Sunday after a British newspaper published video footage of him using offensive and racist language.

Harry, third in line to the British throne and an army lieutenant, issued an apology on Saturday after the News of The World reported that he had used offensive terms to refer to people from Pakistan and people of Arab descent

Well fousto hate to disappoint you but sarah is an ELECTED public official, so therefore you guys have no excuse, where as prince harry is just a jerk who along with his father and grandfather have a reputation for foot in mouth disease and who by some chance of fate were born into a family that is allegedly better than everyone else by their birth right! (give me a break!)

Do you really think that anyone would vote for a bunch of dysfunctional people like the UK 'royal family'? Ok maybe some would! but it can't be denied that lot's of people voted for darling sarah!

I'm a royal subject so I can criticize all I like, ain't no dungeons here that they can slam me into, whereas you guys lost the right to criticize our royal family when you declared independence!

Have you gone and looked at the 'Liberty' site yet?

Ok, don't tell me that's all ancient history and of no relevance today................. I would have thought that your precious government would have given more support to your veterans!

Believe me, if we had the vote there's no way we'd have chosen Harry. He's merely the random product of a small gene pool. You lot, on the other hand, actually made a deliberate decision to let Palin into office.

That said, I don't really see what the fuss is. Clearly "paki" can be and often is a derogatory term; but it seems that in desperation for some content in a slow news week (you know, ignoring that pesky little skirmish in the middle east), a downmarket tabloid rag has got hold of a three year old video and taken Harry's comments completely out of context.

Remember that this was about the same time as his Nazi uniform fiasco, and you get the impression that he was a young tearaway with little sense of the gravitas of his position. Fast-forward three years and he is, by all accounts, a totally different person: a responsible and fast maturing man willing to serve and represent his country.

I suspect that distinction will be too subtle and nuanced for some...

We have to remember where this comment was made. In the Army.
Everyone in the army has their hair shaved and given the same uniform to make them equal. So it is inevitable that 'obvious characteristics' are singled out to describe people. I wonder how many times Harry has been called 'ginger nut'?

Give him a break!

Fousto, we still call her dumb. And probably will do so in the future as well, but Harry is no Einstein either. I hope he'll get a nice room at the attic of his brother's palace where he can grow old while his brother is the king.

It's hardly the most newsworthy story, a single event that happened three years ago. Who knows? The person in question may not have been offended by it.

I don't approve of racism but this strikes me as friendly banter. Also it was three years ago, I'm sure everyone here has done something in their past that perhaps wasn't overly smart :)

Regardless, isn't there some more important news for the papers to discuss?

War in Afghanistan with British troops. We never hear about it. We know about everything that is happening in Gaza. But all we ever hear about British troops in Afghanistan is some died in routine patrols.

No, the nation made a decision to keep her out of office. We ain't that crazy. Only the people of Alaska put her in office. Here's what I know about Alaska: lots of oil and natural resources, very small population, cold most of the year... and the highest drug and alcohol abuse death rate in the nation.

From that I deduce, when you're drunk or high, Sarah Palin may not seem like such a bad choice for governor of your state.

This Prince Harry kid just seems like a lot of overprivileged kids you see in the States, especially Orange County, CA: they're jerks. Just jerks. What little work they do is generally in make-believe or fantasy jobs. My favorite royal kid has to be Beatrice though. She should be the one serving in the Army, cause she's brave. Any girl with hips that big, who'll walk on the beach in a bikini, is stone cold brave! Big Beatrice kind of reminds me of Paris Hilton, after she ate Paris Hilton, the Kardashian sisters and a box of twinkies. But hey, maybe if I was drunk or high, and lived in Alaska... :lips:

But any girl who gets her car stolen because she's too goofy to take the keys out... well, I think that's at least as dumb as her cuz Harry going all Max Mosley for the camera. But you're right: that gene pool has some seriously deformed tadpoles swimming in it.

Exactly Mr Brown, there's a lot of $%it happening in the world, yet this seems to be more important.

Jag...Sarah gets the oil companies to give to every Alaskan a royalty check every year. If THAT isn't smart, you tell me what is. No matter how stupid she may sound to you, she had to have done something right because you know the damned oil companies are loathe to give anyone a break on anything....

As for Harry...well in the British military they probably call a lot of people worse names and Harry is part of that world. That said...not the sharpest knife in the drawer, must be taking after his grandad. Prince Philip has had his size 13 in his mouth so many times he has tread marks on his tongue.

If only Diana survived....she would kick Harry's @ss on a daily basis... Thank God Will seems to have a head on his shoulders....

Way too much poor Sarah on the brain.
Or is it just a never ending game of the seven degrees of Sarah Palin?

I'm no royalist or big supporter of Price Harry, but I beileve you are being unfair. Remember this was a single badly chosen word, spoken three years ago. And I'm led to believe those years spent in the army have changed his character, especially as he served on the front line in Afghanistan.

Unfortunately our media will always do their best to knock someone down for the slightest thing.

I am not sure that serving in the forces necessarily turns one into a good person, but I do take the point.

I think for a member of the royal family it brings them down to earth in a way nothing else could achieve. But of course they'll never have a real appreciation of the lives of their subjects. As even in the army they are put straight into high-ish ranking roles.

We don't get much news on any of the British royals unless they do someting odd or goofy. And I apologize if my assessment of him (or the others) was unfair. But isn't he the same one who was dressed up in the Nazi uniform (complete with swastika) for a costume party?

I'm sure that life under a microscope is pretty tough. But Harry seems like kind of a goofball from this side of the pond.

You're talking about two different things, Mark. The royalty checks that Alaska citizens get are from the Alaska Permanent Fund. Sarah had nothing to do with that. That fund has been around since the mid 70's. What Sarah did was raise the base tax rate to 25% and impose a windfall profits tax on oil companies. Those proceeds were used to fund "rebates" to Alaskans.

Here's where I have an issue. Sarah Palin made a huge deal of criticizing Obama for his alleged "redistribution of wealth" ideas. She began suggesting that he was a socialist and not like "you and me". Yet she got tripped up in the debate with Biden, when she admited that she had imposed a windfall profits tax in Alaska. And as I understand the structure, these "rebates" go to citizens whether they've paid taxes or not. If that isn't redistribution of wealth, plain & simple, I don't know what is. She took money from wealthy corporations and passed it out to the people. For people who are in favor of that, that's fine. But Sarah has tried to pass herself off as a "fiscal conservative"... someone who was the polar opposite of that belief system. Other than tossing labels around for herself and others, does Sarah know the (true) definitions of these labels? That's not me trying to be mean, but rather a sincere question. Does she know what a "fiscal conservative" is? Does she know what that entails? Does she know what a "socialist" is? IMO, Sarah has a lot of learning to do before she returns to the national stage.

I've also read that while mayor of Wasilla, Sarah increased spending by 55%. State spending has increased by 31% since she's been Governor. What I see with Sarah is basic tax & spend. With oil prices at $40 instead of $140, what happens to her budget and tax scheme now?

I'm not saying that everything about Sarah is bad or that she's too dumb to walk and chew bubblegum at the same time. But with her, the devil is always in the details. Whether you're taxing an oil company or a software company, a millionaire or a billionaire, you cannot (legitimately) call yourself a fiscal conservative if you support taxing profits that rise above a certain level, and then you distribute that money to the populace and increase spending by double digits.
