Finni: I think that it's better not to compare anything with Škoda factory results. Those were not just about car and driver...

No hard feelings, it's only a sport BUT we shall see. Bon Appétit.
Obviously no offence was intended! We certainly shall see, and I pray that I'm wrong as a Petter win would make my year!
Finni - the facts are that the Xsara is worse than the C4 otherwise Citroen wouldn't have changed. IMO the Xsara is about as good as last years Subaru, so suddenly expecting wins from Petter in a car whic he's only driven twice in tests is a bit optomistic. But, if anyone can do it Petter can - just not yet, and I dont think this year. 2010 is Petter's year, and he's admitted it himself. He's concnetarting on 2010, and just maintaining his skill this year.

I doubt Citroen marketing appartment would let them still use the Xsara though :p
Wasen't the C4 introduced in 05 or 06?

Any more news that Nasser would drive 2nd car ?

ProRally: The problem is with delivery dates. For now no chance to get new Fabia for Nasser before autumn (he wanted his own team). Maybe he can make some deal with some team which gets it sooner...
Testing started :)

Don't get too hung up on the Petter winning thing, I don't think anybody is realistically suggesting that. But I, and a few others, are convinced that he and the car will be competitive and a top 3 or 4 result is possible.

This debate has been rather pointless then, as I agree 4th or 5th is a possibility. Mainly due to the lack of good cars and drivers, but still Petter is good enough for that.
My main points were against people saying Petter will win or challenge for the win - that's very unlikely unless all four factory drivers retire!

I would be surprised if Petter is outpaced by anyone outside of the three fastest driver (Loeb and Ford boys). I am not even sure that Petter will be outpaced by anyone.
I am wondering why this "pettersolberg" wannabe is thinking that Petter is no more parallel with the fastest drivers. At least if that would be true then there is no point to present himself as "pettersolberg29"

No need to get all angry! I'm not a P.Solberg wannabe, I'm just a fan of his since he started rallying in 1999, at least in the WRC. And you are not understanding my comments. Petter is at least as good as the other top drivers, or even better, but NOT IN A CITROEN XSARA.
Give them all the same car and Petter would rival Loeb everywhere except tarmac. Thanks urabus-deno for your kind words ;)

Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum so wanted to say hi.
But I also wanted to let you know that a group of four of us are traveling from the UK this Thursday to Rally Norway.
We have been traveling to WRC events for over twenty years and have been to the Rally Sweden for the last 5 years.
We have purchased the Full Rally Pass, the fire and ice program and maps, and tickets to the Super Special on Thursday night.
However I would like some advice from you guys on the best stages to see on Friday and Saturday.
We would be happy to meet up with any of you guys whilst we are there, for beers and perhaps to meet on the stages somewhere too.
Thanks in advance and I hope to meet some new friends whilst we are in Norway this year.
Cheers,
Nige.

This is what I`m going to do
Starts whith SS2 Opaker.
There is a great place neatby the end of the stage where you got flat out for about 400 meters and goes over a crest in 5 or 6 right and than 400 meters straigt agien. If you want to see speed this is a good place.
For access this place we will park the car on side roads by the main road that goes by the end of the stage. There should be a junktion about 2.3 km from the end of the stage where you can start walking into the stage. Then it would be about 2 km walk in start-direction from the juction.
SS5 Konmgsvinger
The best place to see this stage is nearby the horce track. There is a couple of fast places after the horcetrack, but there maybe be a little bit crowded here since the stage is nearby Kongsvinger city etc. You should not go into the end of the stage. There is not fast at all rather tricky and a lot of downhill, but the problem is that there will be closed for spectatores since there is no space for parking in that area.
SS7 Finnskogen
I Think there might be a lot of people in the place where Iskald mentioned, but there is a nice place where it goes downhill in a couple of sweet turns in medum/fast speed.
If you want to get a place alone you can go south in a juction nearby this place for about 6-7 km. Then you got to option on this road. both are okey, not wery fast but this stage is not wery fast anyway.
SS9 Kirkenćr
You might reach this stage as well if you want to se the WRC cars most times or you can stay at SS7 and see all the cars. SS9 is hell of a lot of drunk people anyway, Your choise...

Yeah i think i have one or two more clips of him, I'Il make sure i add them in the full video ok ;)
And thanks for the nice comments :)
OK, that would be absolutely great! :)
and, if You don't mind, I could post links to Your videos in the Latvian rally forum and some 20-30 thousand Latvian rally fans would be VERY grateful. A lot of people in Latvia are following the results of No. 40 Neiksans/Dzirkals, and I'm sure that they would be happy to see some videos of him in the Special Stages :)
Thank You one more time :)

PG apperantly stalled in the last hairpin... Flodin jumped to hard and broke something in the rear!

Also great, great start for Mads Řstberg.

I dont like it when people speak lite "oh cut it of its just a super special it is a long rally". WE KNOW that... :)
To be back in the lead in a rally means a lot to Solberg psycholocigal, does not matter if the first stage were 10 meters...

very good start for rally norway!!!
solberg leads overall, sandell in the new fabia leads pwrc and beats several word rally cars! if there is a rally god, please let the rally end exactly like it is now! ;o)
one thing makes me a little worry: starting positions for tomorrow, boland 2 minutes before aava.....he (boland) lost 14 seconds on the 2k´s of the ss tonight, this may cause problems at least on stage 4 tomorrow over 25km!

Yeah Boland did not look very comfortable on shakedown today, think he was one of those who did the most runs too hehe. I think he's done a rally in Norway before, think it was Flesberg rally in a baby blue classic impreza, does anyone know?

Sub, I think the only winter rallies Boland has done before are Sweden and RMC (sometimes a winter-ish rally) but can't be sure about Flesberg.

Yes Boland drove Flesberg years ago in the babyblue Subaru, I think it was as a part of Hauglands winter rally school.
Anders Kjćr in the late starter locost Subaru cup car almost spoils the fun for Sandell

SS1: Petter's back! I know it's only the very first stage, and only a SSS, but what a fantastic start to his new career as a privateer. Great way to keep the sponsors happy as well. Roll on the real stages tomorrow.

Interesting start tomorrow, considering what is being said that the stages are a little loose, and that they have ploughed too much - meaning that it is possible that the drivers starting a bit down the order might get better grip. If that happens, Petter will have a very good starting position tomorrow - bearing in mind his performance tonight, he might be very, very high in the rankings after day one.
I'm packing now, going to the rally tomorrow!

It was 4-5 years since Henning started to drive a factory car on regular bais and i still cant think of him as a world class driver. I don't think he ever will win a rally (and thats not because Ford is fokking with his car). And i dont like it when he starts his about him being better than Petter...

Good morning all. Good to see Petter wins the SS but I think a top 5 is realistic for him. Latvala, Hirvonen, Loeb are in much faster cars. He must thinking to fight with H. Solberg, Řstberg, Sordo and maybe Aava.
I am going to work now too, so I hope you will have a nice rally forummers.
