Does anyone out there know what John Mickel and/or Torquespeed are planning to do on the track in 2009?

Specifically, is John going to be racing his truck in the US again next season?

I know that sponsorship is VERY hard to find everywhere these days and that even established Sprint Cup teams are going bust or merging with others (DEI, Ganassi and even Petty..!). However given that the Truck series failed to fill its grids at every race last year, 2009 might be a good time for John to fulfill his ambition to race at Daytona this February. He's already tested (and wrecked!) there a couple of season ago and I think that I'm right in sayng that he was given the green light from NASCAR to race at Daytona.

Any news anyone?

Nothing concrete at the moment. Sponsorship is even harder to find at the minute. John has been spending time in North Carolina since the end of the season (and things are very depressed over there), meeting potential investors and sponsors. The testing ban has not helped the situation. NASCAR did give John the green light to race at any of their tracks.
Sorry there is nothing more definate.
