The guy who did throw the shoe seems to be a hero in his country now, big demostrations in Iraq demanding to let him free, perhaps they find WMD in his shoes.

Perhaps it was Bin Laden :) That would wrap things up neatly for Mr Bush wouldn't it? ;)

Perhaps it was Bin Laden ...

Would that be the sole indication?

Ol' George was pretty quick on his feet. Bit of dodging and weaving going on!

In Arab culture, throwing shoes is a grave show of disrespect. “This is the farewell kiss, you dog,” the man shouted in Arabic.

It is Arab culture, and isn't of US, therefore Mr Bush shrugged, wasn't bothered with the incident and said that he's OK..

I wonder when somebody will make a video game about this. You try to hit a dodging George with a shoe. That would be fun.

Shame the guy (a) didn't have better aim, and (b) hadn't trodden in dog crap first.

It wasn't a spontaneuous thing, he'd bought the shoes especially for the occasion. I find it rather disturbing that he was beaten while in custody however. You'd expect that sort of thing for pensioner heckling a Labour party conference, but Iraq is supposed to be civilsed now. :mark:

I think it was in the news that us and iraq has agreed that iraq can become civilsed after 2011.

The first pitch was a pretty good "two seam sinking fastball" He just left it a little high in the zone! That pitch has to be down to be effective! :p :

Or as the words of Sean Connery in The Untouchables. "Isn't that like a wop? Brings a shoe to a gun fight."

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.

There is a game already, in which you have to protect Bush from flying shoes. :D
The game is pretty bad, so I won't put the link here. ;)

That reminds me of a movie (can't recall the name of it) that refers to Finns as being the "niggers" of Scandinavia! ;)
