First of the two real winter rounds, we're staying with 2 days rallying until further notice, be careful in this rally as sliding might look fun but can endp up in huge crashes!

The rally will be run with the following format.
Game rally: Sweden
Shakedown stage: SS3
Day 1: Expert level
Day 2: Intermediate level

PLEASE NOTE: On SS2 of Sweden in CMR2, the snow banks on the frozen lake section are considered to be solid objects and driving over these to cut across the open snow is not permitted

rally starts on Saturday and deadline for submissions is on Tuesday 13th 23:59 GMT

Have fun and good luck!

I have already finished the rally and submitted my times, as I will be leaving for the "real" Swedish rally tomorrow morning.

The rally went very well, with plenty of new personal best times, so I feel in absolute top form for the Norwegian Rally.

Let the battle begin! :-D

I'm also going to Sweden on Wednesday. I'll run the rally on Tuesday, after I get some inspiration in Scandinavia :)

Hi, my best shakedown time was 1:23.79. I think that's the maximum I can get from this stage. And by the way is it a big difference if I am using manual or automatic gear box for Sweden?

P.S. In the last couple of days, I am receiving some spam e-mails form the yahoo page.

Using manual or automatic gears is just about confidence ans squeezing the last tenths of a second out of it. I am using manual gears for years and if I use automatic gears, I can do about the same stage times after some practice.

1 29 45 spun on stage :D
1 23 44
1 23 74
1 20 76
1 21 55

Hoping for a top 6 in the Focus for this event. If we can make that mental shift from trying to be fast and focus on the fast line instead, we should meet our goal...

Good one Tannat! Another good time for the RAlly. My new computer crashed big time, so I have to resort to the older one for the time being.
Jso, If I can't submit my times on tuesday, can I submit them afterwards. This is due to my new 'puter being rebuilt. I'll try to down load the new timesheet format tonight if possible.
My best time for the shakedown was:
1:24.27
worst: 1:33.00 Spun onto the rocks.
Good luck to all!

I made a small , simple cmr2 rally video from swedish rally. You can download it if you want.
The webpage design is as minimal as the video, but i made both without any experience , but with heart :)

Have fun!

Hey we finished in 1 piece!
Day 1:
Good fast start, well for us any way. Stage 3 had us into the signs, twice. Kept up the pace all the Rally, but fell off the road on stage 10,literally. Some damage.
Day 2:
Another good start but that sign just wouldn't get outa our way on stage 3. The next stage saw some of the fastest spins we've ever had, over 100 mph+! Who allowed the spectators cars on the rally route? We just scraped by 1 near the bridge, going very fast. Stage 8, we rolled off the road into the trees, rocks etc. The SS was always a difficult stage for us and we lost time, bummer.
Good fast Rally with some funny 'accidents' along the way. Don't know how we went, hopefully we can get some points.
Thanks Red Bull Team.

Had a fun time with the Focus in Sweden. It REALLY likes to turn quickly, so we'll back off the steering a notch for Norway..

Heard at the post rally gathering:

Young blonde to Tannat: "You drove a lovely rally Tannat. You handle the car quite well.."

Tannat: "Very kind of you to say so. You enjoy watching rallies?"

Young blonde: "Yes, very much so. I once drove myself. My husband drives to, but I think you could show him a thing or two."

Tannat: "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name?"

Young blonde: "Pernilla"

Yep! There's plenty of silly sponsors in the WRC already, and John Deere seems to match Skoda quite well ;-)

Marcel finishes Rally Sweden

Long live the long fast sliding corners! The more I drive on snow, the more I'm starting to like it!
We were very pleased with our performance here in sweden.
Luckily we got some serious snow testing in the weeks before the rally.
This resulted in a well balanced car and boosted our confidence in the snow.
We also got more and more familiar with the handling of the Subaru. This resulted in some good new PB's during the rally, which should give us a solid podium finish. We look forward to rally Norway to even push a little bit harder on these great, but tricky snowy surfaces!

Nice on.

Well I think one who uses manual gearing would win for sure. M.Haenen is my big bet?

I'm using keyboard og PC, and auto gear so I think a got a time around last rally results. 6-9th place? Hoping for points.

I'm this game's Henning Solberg ;)

Pernilla Solberg is a former rally-driver. The lady from sweden won NM(Norwegian championships) some years ago:

At least Petter "sends" his times to WRC officials after he completes it! ;) not like some American I know :p :
Oh I forgot there's a new rule for drivers going to see the real rally, if you don't cheer for Loeb you get a 40 secs penalty and if you cheer for Solberg(Petter) you get another 40 secs of penalty :D

I'm really happy for this victory, because it's my favourite rally for sure in the championship. Combination of manual gearbox and snow stages gives you a fantastic ryhtm to really push from stage to stage. Javier, I didn't cheer for Loeb, Gronholm and Solberg in Sweden. I did that for a different lad :)

Very tight finish here

Bit disappointed not to finish in the top 6. A bit over 20 seconds behind equates to about a second a stage.

We'll try to do some recce before Norway.
You're my target, Killalot!

Great drive GrP! It is indeed the best rally of the game.
I still lack a great deal of practice on snow and almost everytime I drive a stage I am setting a new PB. So let's see what norway will bring us.

Javier, I cheered for Solberg....there goes my well deserved 2nd place.... :D

now choose your penalty :p : :
