I can't believe there isn't more comment on this.

Gilliland is either incredibly stupid or a criminal. In either case, NASCAR needs to prevent him from competing indefinitly or, at least, for the balance of the season and require him apply for reinstatement before they allow him to race again next year.

Yes, there are mitigating factors; but there is no excuse for intentionally wrecking anyone at those speeds. Oh yes, he said he didn't mean to wreck him; but at those speeds, once contact is made, all bets are off.

agreed - do that on the open road, and see how many years you get for attempted murder. Crazy move as a retaliation for not very much, from the TV I saw on it. Perhaps Montoya was harsh with him. Didn't see it, so don't know for sure. However, to be side-swiped like that was just criminal.
