Finishing 3rd overall behind the Mazda RX7 Batmobile of Andrew Grundy (now known as "The Stig" as even most Kiwi's did not know who he was) and Craig Marshal with the Peugeot 206GTi it was an outstanding drive in a blind event.

Steve French & Colin Booth had a high speed accident destroying their new RS1800, Both drivers received hospital treatment and are out and about in New Zealand endevouring to enjoy their trout fishing holiday. One with a broken wrist and the other with broken ribs but nothing will deter them from the fishing.

Jimmy McRae was so pleased with his Escort that he tried to post it home, unfortunately he could not manage to get all of it into the farmers letterbox in an undamaged condition.
