On a ford forum im on theres someone saying that ford used a rwd mondeo in the early 90's. Now im 99% sure they didnt so can somebody back me up!!

As I remember, Andy Rouse decided on developing it as a RWD car but it didn't go well, so they binned it and entered with a FWD version part way through the season.

They tested one but apparently they lost too much power running a RWD layout with a transverse engine.

i could be wrong, but i think gravett did a few races in the rwd version

There was a 4wd version developed also.

Back in the 90's Vauxhall also experimented with both a 4x4 version and rwd version of its Cavalier for the Btcc, but like Ford they came to same conclusion that front wheel drive also suited their Cavalier better than the other two options.

The 90's really were the hey day, teams and manufactuers pushed the bounderies and created such an exciting series, such a shame modern times cant live upto the past acheivments, interms of development.
