Stars like Coulthard, Button and Danica Patrick have their stardom from the Formula Ford Festival held in October. Other drivers included, Ayrton Senna, Emerson Fittipaldi, Michael Schumacher, Michael Andretti, Jimmy Vasser and Derek Daly who won in 1976. In 2008, the festival has finally produced the 1st US driver to win the event. 2008 Skip Barber seriesrunner-up Josef Newgarten has etched his name by winning the festival at Brands Hatch.
Skip Barber champion and Derek Daly's son Conor had a very superb charge
after a dismal qualifying session in mid-pack to finish 6th in the event.
