Maybe I missed the thread that mentioned this car but saw these images whilst perusing the site earlier. What spec is this car S1600 or 2 litre front wheel drive? As a Skoda fan/driver it looks very nice whatever!!

Can't be the S2000 can it?

It's not Fabia S2000!
Looks like some kind of kit-car. According to the official entry list of this rally this is Skoda Fabia 2 in F11 class. I have no clue what F11 means.
Can someone form Slovakia say something more?

Remember there being a 2 litre fwd version of the old shape Fabia. Those arches just break up how tall the shell looks as standard..very nice!

Guys, we try to find out what the car actualy is too :)

It is FWD Kit Car having either 1.6 or 2.0 litre engine with 4 separate throttle valves. Anyway it is private project, maybe something like Fabia 1 Kit Car from Impromat Motorsport You probably know (or maybe connected somehow to Impromat).

Raven: F11 is Slovak class for cars without FIA international homologation or with expired homologation under two litres.

Sal: The old one is 1.6 Kit Car not 2.0, they are 3 ones built ( http://www.ewrc.cz/images/2008/mcr/jes/sa_a_102_minarik_1.jpg ) ;)

So, it has nothing to do with previous Kit Car from Impromat.

We have information what the car actualy is :)

It has engine from Škoda Octavia Kit Car F2. 2.0 naturaly aspirated 20V 4 cylinder, transversaly mounted. Engine is made by Motordesign Šmat Czech Republic.

Car has cca 1000 kg and is made from production 1.2 HTP one :)

Car uses 18" wheels.

That's what we know. It's Kit Car we knew is 1990'.

Thanks for the info! Take it that it is front wheel drive?

Short video from test. The car seems to be much weaker than Octavia Kit Car. Maybe it is very early test...

It has Sadev gearbox and Proflex shock absorbers.

Looks good!

It would be nice if Skoda would make an R2 version of the new Fabia, any chance?

Yes, it should be in one or two years. They want it as a replacement of Felicias, so that it should be reasonably cheaper than C2 R2 (big Fabia can't be as fast as C2 due to heavy and high bodyshell).

So are you saying it will be a slow Fabia or based on an all new car (Skoda's UP!)?

Mirek

It will be Fabia. I don't say it will be slow but I can hardly believe it may be fast as small and light C2 R2. Fabia is bigger, higher and has 5 door body only ;)

And more about Fabia 2 Maxi. The car has Seat Leon Super Copa brakes (6 piston 362 mm) and actualy 1100 kg. Engine is now on lower power and was used only in lower rpm since the car is still in testing.

Better solution for Skoda is maybe R3 model?
Maybe this car is preparation for new class?

Fabia 2 Maxi is private project from Slovakia. Nothing to do with Škoda Motorsport.

Yes, I know, I just thinking loud.

Yes S1600 is on its way out and R3 on its way in, so to go for R3 would make sense !!

There is no 2litre engine in the new Fabia range. Fabia S2000 uses the 2.0FSI from the Octavia, not sure if they can do this with an R3 car?

Mirek

There won't be R3 in my opinion.

How much difference is there between a S2000 and a R3, apart from removing the rear wheel drive part ?

Can people use a S2000 chassis, and take away things, and end up with an R3 ?

Mirek

R3 and S2000 are completely different cars. R3 has no body Kit, no special suspension, different engine rulles, completely different transmission...
