View Full Version : Former BTCC ace finally loses marbles.

I suppose driving touring cars, sportscars and rally cars must get boring after a while.

The men in white coats are surely on their way to collect this man. I've checked the date and it isn't April 1st.

The 2008 Dakar on a quad?!

Good luck PB.

When I saw the title I thought this was about Patrick Watts, but then he's always been bonkers. :D

Absolutely mad. That makes him the 3rd BTCC driver of recent years to compete after Kurt Luby did it on a bike a few years back and Yvan did it this year. Good luck Phil.

Looking at his newspage, I found this photo of him doing a road rally. Check out his terrified navigator! http://www.philbennett.com/news/default.asp?id=98

Good luck, Phil. I hope he'll be alright, the Dakar is not the safest motor racing event.

2nd February 2007, 21:47
hope he does well but I would much prefer him to be in the BTCC - he is a very skillful driver and would do very well.

Well at least there is time enough for him to seek professional help :D

i think he was under rated in the btcc like his first year he had plato thom and muller as team mates and didnt do to badly until he got that crappy proton!

i would like to see him back

What is Phil doing these days? I recall he did some sportscar races last year but no more has reached my ears and eyes.

Very good luck to him anyway, I'll be rooting for him next year!

5th February 2007, 19:45
He seems to be doing everything and anything. Nurburgring endurance races, BritCar, LMES, GTs, road rallies, you name it.

6th February 2007, 00:28
who did he race for in LMES was it onlt protran at donnigton or was there others aswell ?

6th February 2007, 17:16
Kruse Motorsport.

6th February 2007, 17:30
didnt realise they raced this year! opps

6th February 2007, 17:58
Oh, you mean last season? Kruse did a couple of rounds, but PB wasn't involved in their campaign. He was driving for them in 2005.

6th February 2007, 18:02
ah so he only raced once in lmes then ?

6th February 2007, 19:20
He raced for Scuderia Ecosse at one race last year.

6th February 2007, 22:03
which race was that ??

wasnt he ment to do a load of races for them ??
