PRESS RELEASE from Frozz Motors Europe

after a dissapointing rally Spain Frozzy aims to get a respectable finish in corsica and after a rush to get a new Co-Driver for the Event Frozzy has teamed up with the experienced Derek Ringer after Ex Co=Driver Mark Delain made a serious navigational error which cost Frozzy a lot of time in Spain.
" Hopefully the Skoda will Thrive on the French Roads we Hope and Also we hope that the previous rally has Given us more Courage to attack the Stages with 100 % comitment and bravery as we have a truck load of Red Bull as our Secret Weapon :D "

jso1985

I need to tell Red Bull that Citroën and Toyota are the only teams they are sponsoring and stop giving the stuff to everyone! :p

Rat
12th October 2008, 10:46
uh oh, we have been found out! That truck was supposed to be at Toyota HQ BEFORE the Rally. How else can we keep the co-drivers from leaving? With our crazy drivers doing their thing, the 'ballast' still complains about them.
We haven't had the time to recce this week, so it will be straight in and hope for last again...fast but last!

I dusted off my old copy of CMR2 recently. Is there any special requirement to join in the fun?

I'm pretty slow, but what the hell :P

Pick a WRC rally car, use the France Rally and follow these directions:

The rally will be run with the following format:
Game Rally: France
Shakedown stage: SS7, Rain
Day 1: Single rally expert level
Day 2: Single rally Intermediate level

Rally starts on Friday and deadline for submissions is on Wednesday 22nd 11:59 AM GMT
You can start as a privateer and work into a Works Team later. Enjoy the madness!
Sometimes we use the mirror cheat to create more stages.

Hi all. Because this Friday I have to submit my MSc thesis I won't have time to do the rally until Friday night. Is there a possibility the deadline can be extended? Else Curtans RallyBase Motorsport will sit this one out and return for Japan.

No probs from me, although an extension of 3 days is quite a lot so first I hae to ask the other drivers, if someone complains before tuesday, the original deadline will be kept otherwise it'll be extended to Saturday 15:59 GMT

We finished rally corsica. It was a perfect event. The car was just spot on and we made just little mistakes. We encountered no real rain, only a couple of damp roads, but they didn't really slow us down. We set some good PB's on our way to the finished. We hope for a top result here in order to have a small buffer in the championship.

NOR
15th October 2008, 08:13
We had a very bussy rallying weekend. The Czech CMR2 Champ ran in the same term - I did an excellent performance with a lot of PB's, won one SS and after big battle finished 4th.
In our CMR2 WC turn I made a more mistakes, weather wasn't ideal, but I hope for similar place in Tour de Corse too. I have never had so much fun on tarmac roads, like during last two weeks. Two Basses Ford Team Europe prepared my car very reliable and nice to drive. Since I'm spending most time in workshop with developing new rally cars, instead of testing, my feeling behind the wheel is confident.

15th October 2008, 11:35
Finished the event :)

Changed the set up this time and moved the brake balance forward slightly. No idea if this chnaged the handling or whether it was psychological but the car felt much better on these stages. Very happy with my times too but Marcel was super quick last time out so I hope we put up more of a challenge in France than we did in Spain.

Zes
15th October 2008, 11:45
Event completed. No rain, but I didn't find a good setup for my car. This was faster rally than Spain and I had difficulties to adapt it. I was far away from my PB's. Looks like there is no points coming now.

Now I should find time to recce Japan/UK stages. I haven't driven there for ages and they are really difficult stages.

JTLarsen
15th October 2008, 13:48
Both the Focus and I felt on fire for this event, and as a result I managed no less than 12 PBs! Too bad the asphaltrallies are over for this season.

I did 2 stages in the rain on slicks, and with a weatherforecast that said more rain i changed to raintyres only to spend the next 2 stages burning soft rubber as there was not a single drop of rain.. :D

lugnut_usa
15th October 2008, 13:51
My rally was fairly uneventful for the most part. The car felt good, very responsive, and I was able to keep it clean for most of the event. I had a costly mistake in the next to last stage, but other than that I'm satisfied with my first attempt.

The weather was good, the car was fast...I just need to improve my form, but I feel like I got a pretty good start. :P

Frozzy
15th October 2008, 15:29
Eurosport: Frozzy you've completed rally France how'd it go?

Frozzy: yeah i really enjoyed it the Skoda was in its best form so far it was sticking the roads even with me throwing it around so we left most of our rubber on the coners :D .

E.S: So how was the weather some drivers were complaining that there was rain in the stages.

Frozzy: well seeing as we were seeded at the back of the field we got dry stages all through the rally which we were thankful of.

E.S: how do you think you will finish?

Frozzy: well hopefully some where near Rats times as we se him as the bench mark for us in terms of the speed of the Fabia S2000 in relation to that of the Toyota Corolla which has a lot of rallies under its belt and because i reckon Rat has the same abilities as me its good to judge my self against him :) .

A restless daughter at 12:30 am facilitates my wee hour rallying..

A good rally for us, not a great one. Made several bonehead mistakes resulting in 4 off on a few stages, but seemed to make up for it in other sectors.

Set a few PBs, and all of this without any recce. It's great to jump into these stages and go 10/10ths and set good times. I don't think I could do that on any other set of stages (maybe UK? -HA!).

Dry rally throughout

A good points tally here and Suzuki Motorsports will close their doors for 2008, and Tannat will join kabouter at Curtans for the final two rounds

not fair Tannat, how did you get a dry rally?

I got lucky, I guess. Stages 1-2 were sunny-partly cloudy-sunny which was a good omen.

I did note many people got rain. That really doesn't happen often (in my experience) on the France stages. It happens more frequently on the Italy stages.

If you compete in the CMR2 IRC next year I plan to resolve the weather issue ;)
