A Graham Rahal racing helmet, with a design that is a tribute to Paul Newman, is being auctioned on eBay to raise funds for a new camp for children with serious illnesses. The camp, Flying Horse Farms, a provisional member of the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps, which was started by Newman in 1988.

The helmet, commissioned by the Newman-Haas-Lanigan race team and won by Rahal in a race at Mid-Ohio in July, is a collage of posters from some of Newman's famous movies. The helmet is signed by Newman, Rahal and designer Troy Lee.

The auction is scheduled to end on Oct. 13. On Monday the high bid stood at $6,300.

Flying Horse Farms is scheduled to open in 2010 in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, near Columbus.

There's a great IRL helmet being auctioned off at eBay for the next few days. The helmet worn by Graham Rahal, who races the Hole in the Wall Camps' car for the Newman/Haas racing team, at the Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio this past June and signed by Rahal, Paul Newman and the helmet designer. The helmet is a tribute to Paul Newman and his great movie career. You can find the helmet on ebay if you search for Paul Newman Tribute Helmet. All the proceeds from the sale of the helmet will go to Flying Horse Farms, a camp that is opening in 2010. It's a camp for kids who are seriously ill and will be a part of Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Association of camps. Check it out!
