Despite finishing 3rd in the GP2 standings, Renault test driver Lucas Di Grassi
is probable on line to replace Nelson Piquet Jr for 2009. Unless, if Fernando
Alonso retains his seat, Piquet is out the door.

I didn't realise that LdG finished 3rd even after missing 6 races of GP2 at the start of the year. That's pretty impressive.

Di Grassi seems quite the opposite of Piquet. A consistent and reliable driver and unlike Piquet, rarely makes mistakes (or at least this is the impression from GP2). So all in all he is in some way a heidfeldesque driver, although not as good as the German. I don't think Lucas is a top-class material, but good enough not to embarrass in F1.
