Probably will not focus too much on recce for this one. Want to focus on the UK rounds at the end.

Hoping to complete a real time run of Petit Le Mans on the PS2 this weekend

What PS2 game has Petit Le Mans?

Le Mans 24 Hours-the early 2000's release, not the earlier one for PS1

It's a REALLY cool game......

Had a little spin today :)

2:41.66
2:42.05
2:45.91 - somehow span the car!
2:40.32...set the brakes further to the rear and the car worked much better
2:39.48...very clean run although missed a gear change at one point

I REALLY like it. All at once I got SBK 07, WRC, and Suzuki TT Superbike, and leMans 24 hours is the one I can't leave (perhaps beacuse the ALMS is at its nadir currently in the US).

Get it-it should be dirt cheap on PC in the UK...

Perhaps a bit of caution before you rush off the get the PC version. Not all reviewers were impressed by the game: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/driving/lemans24hours/review.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=gssummary&tag=summary;read-review

It's not the best (no damage) but the physics are quite good (one of the few games I know of with oversteer!!!!).

If you can get it as cheap as I did here in the colonies (about $8 USD) it will be worth it...

Off topic-but it made no sense to start a new thread,

The Audi's are practicing in the 1:07 range and my fastest lap in the McLaren F1 at the track is right there.

Could have a very realistic 10 hour run, but I can't stay awake at night (and my daughter wakes early)...

I have to finish my stash of Red Bull and get stuck in to the Rally this weekend. Good luck everyone.

I may take a drive with Curtans if there is an opening:

Teams Standings
1.- Red Bull Citroën Total Sport 112
2.- ML Motorsports Citroën 111
3.- Suzuki Motorsport 75
4.- Two Basses Team Ford Europe 47
5.- ARB Racers 29
6.- Subaru World Rally Team 17
7.- Frozz Motors Europe 15
8.- Curtans RallyBase Motorsports 13

Suzuki can get no better than 3rd in the championship unless Marcel or Homer miss multiple rounds, I think Juha is gone, and I would like to make the last rallies meaningful.

I'll stick with Suzuki until I'm good and clear of two basses. At that point if there is an opening with Curtans I'll accept a drive and help you out in the team standings.

Whaddya say?

As both of my teammates seem to have vanished from the face of the earth (or at least from this part of the forum) I'm happy to accept any assistance in my quest to get Curtans RallyBase Motorsport into the top 6 of the teams championship :D I'm sure we can get a 206 WRC from somewhere for you to use. If the organizer of this wonderful championship agrees to your swapping teams of course.

I'm thinking after two strong showings on tarmac I may swap for Japan and Wales....

We finished!
Day 1:
Rain, rain again and got caught out in the dry on stage 1. Tried to set a decent time but too slippy. Hit a fence and a wall, slow time on stage 3. A nice soft roll and a hard hit on a fence end destroyed the front end on the next stage. More rain with a fast time set on stage 7. Had rain all the way through the rest of the day.
Day 2:
Wow is it wet! Fast and slippy! Went wide on stage 3 and hit a fence hard demolishing the gearbox, steering etc. Tried to set a decent time on the next stage, wait until Service and they see this! After service we just went faster and kept it all together setting some good times in the latter part of the day. Even set a PB!
Sorry to the Mechanics for the extra work on this Rally, but we had to try and get some points on the board this year.

Italy is so hard in the rain! I did some testing in the wet and slid of the road several times even at slow speeds.. great fun! :p :

Finished rally Spain. It was a hard one again. We finally managed to solve the brake problem on our car, which was a big relief. We finally could go through a stage without encountering some problems. We had some luck with the rain, we only met some damp conditions on a couple of stages, but in general it was dry. Beside some small mistakes the rally went well and we improved a lot in comparison to last year (mainly due to the brakes and a freshly installed PC without those annoying hick-ups and slow rendering)

This rally is always tough for us, I don't know why though.
First leg:
SS1-SS4: Rain but not that bad times. Good start.
SS5-SS6: Ok
SS7: Driver mistake - got stuck in a ditch.
SS8: OK, but slow
SS9-SS10: HEAVY RAIN. I guess I have lost a lot of time on both stages.
Second Leg: Ok, No rain at all. Much better times than leg 1. Only one mistake - got caught by the same ditch on SS7. I am quite happy with leg 2. Hoping for a top 5 finish.

Because I spent the whole of yesterday evening working on my thesis I didn't manage to do the rally yet. If the organizer allows a small deadline extension, I might squeeze in the rally tonight.

Wow...seems we got lucky again...no real rain to speak of, just a few drops mid stage or at an end but no heavy downpours. Rally went well, on the short stages we set PBs so hoping for a close fight here :)

Rally completed. Forecast told that there should have been rain in SS9-10 and I put wet tyres on. Light rain started somewhere in the middle of SS10, so I lost some time there with my wrong tyre choice. I also managed to miss a junction in SS10. That stage really was a disaster!

Tuomo had fever, so I didn't let him drive this time.

Ahh yessss-in sector two or three, isn't it?

I'm certain the programmers got a few laughs when they put that one in.

Rally completed. I didn't really like these stages before, and I still don't like 'em now... Most fun I had was in a thunderstorm on SS 9. By far my best stage of the rally sliding on the wet roads but never going off or hitting anything.

The first four stages of the first day were ok, but then the usual problem on this rally popped up. The frame rate on my PC drops so much after a few stages that the car becomes undriveable. And on SS 5 precision really is needed... So from there on there wasn't much fun but I stuck at it, and completed the event. I think I'm only going to compete on these stages again when I have a new computer, though.

Yes, that's probably the biggest trap in the game. When you miss the junction and come back, there is still two roads to choose. If you again choose the wrong one, you have missed the junction twice...

It's a pity you can't edit the pacenotes. I would certainly add word ATTENTION!!! here.

Zes, why change the pacenotes? That's why we like the Rally, it throws a wobbly at ya every now and again! Remember the dry creek in Kenya after the long straight? Gets me everytime..

Yes, that may be true. In my opinion it would be nice to do my own pacenotes and see, if I would get any faster. Seems like I don't always agree everything my navigator tells me... Sometimes I would like to go faster than he tells me and sometimes he just forgots to warn me from of something.

Pah, co-drivers, what do they know...Just feed 'em Red Bull and a few brave pills and they soon settle down. I nearly had 1 abandon me on a Rally this year just because I hit his side of the car after a 120 mph spin. Jeez...

I remember that there was a game in which you could actually edit the pace notes, but I can't remember the name of that rally game. It was a long time ago. Does anybody know it?

Relieved with 4th-not a proud rally for us. Recce is very important on these stages for me, and I drove with too little agression.

Will try to have a run or two through France before we do the rally.

Kabouter-By my count Suzuki is now 80-54 over Two Basses, and I think I need one more good rally before I am certain Suzuki has a comfortable lead for third place (26 points amongst three rallies is very doable for Two Basses :D )

I'll come over to Curtans for Japan and Wales
