As usual, Antibes Rally will be the last round of European Rally Championship. The event starts on October 17 on the French riviera. Entries close on October 3.

My French is not good at all, but if I understand correctly the organizers' press release, Luca Rossetti has already sent his entry. Other expected drivers are Michal Solowow and Corrado Fontana.

More about it here:

Luca Rossetti must be there, because he has only 5 ERC results until now. As you know Jarek, to be classified in the final standings of the ERC, you must drive 6 rallies. They say also there will be around 10 S2000 cars.

It will be a good event is my feeling ;)

As every year, Antibes will be the last round of the french 206 Cup...and also the last year of the 206 in cup(replaced in 2009 by the 207 R3) :D

Mirek
20th September 2008, 11:08
By 207 LW as far as I know. It is very cheap variant of R3, far to maximum upgrades of R3.

Will there also be historic cars in Antibes?

Tom206wrc
20th September 2008, 12:31
Normally yes Jarek...always three rallies in one at Antibes(ERC/national/historic) ;)

Andrey
20th September 2008, 20:37
Russian gentleman driver Andrey Blinkov, one of leaders of Russian Rally Cup, will make his european debut at Antibes. Normally he use Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX.

Well Tom, it looks like it is true. Sarazin will be in Antibes with a S2000 Peugeot of Peugeot Sport and Peugeot France, and this in preparation for the Monte Carlo Rally, where he will be also present. As Antibes shares part of the stages of Monte, he thinks it will be good preparation.
It will be Canivenq that will use the same car in the last two rounds of the French championship this year. At least that is what is written on website of Turbo Magazine here in Belgium. ;)

Yes Tom, it is pitty Bouffier lost allready so much time, do you know what problem he have? Looks like Bruyneel is leading in Group N, isn't he? ;) For the rest it looks like Peugeot cup, so i guess you are happy. :D

Tom206wrc
17th October 2008, 14:03

More than 6 minutes lost for Fontana :s

wwbroe
17th October 2008, 14:05
First "real" stage and besttime again for Vouillioz, before Sarazin, who is doing really well. Rosetti is loosing allready some time compared to Niko and Stephane, but Bouffier is loosing a lot of time (1' and 11") so i guess the Proton has some kind of problem? :)

Tom206wrc
17th October 2008, 14:27
SS3 running... :)

wwbroe
17th October 2008, 14:41
And third besttime for Vouillioz, again in front of Sarazin. I guess Rosetti is taking it quite easy, he is just cruising to European crown. ;)

Tom206wrc
17th October 2008, 14:45
Rossetti is doing the wisest thing: he has a championship to win overall, useless to take risks to attack the french drivers in front :p :

Tom206wrc

Mirek

Proton was quite slow in the first section. I hope it was some minor problem and we'll see better times in second section.

By the way, Czech crew Smékal-Dresler (N3 Honda Civic) in their first international outing is doinf well fighting with Henk Wossen for 24th place overal. I keep my fingers crossed for them. Pavel Dresler wrote to me yesterday that the stages are incredibly hard and they just wish to finish :)

Bouffer's Proton was pushed into first service as he can't start engine. Losses from SS2 are punctures.

Bouffier has engine power problems since the very first stage. In the moment he doesn't know why. Czech driver Smékal hit a wall on SS2 without serious damage. Sarazin's engine has strange sound. It is dry.

Sulland

How hard can it be getting an engine to start. Its one of two things; no petrol or no spark. Both are not that hard to do troubleshooting on, if you have spares.

The 7000 rpm problem sound to be a ECU/CPU setting issue, or broken electronics.

Replace and drive !

Battles to follow tomorrow are Vouilloz vs Sarrazin(13s between them)and Donchev vs Isik(less than 1s between them) :D

Also a question to answer tomorrow: can Fontana take the 6th place overall ??? ;)

Ok, thanks Mirek, do you know what car Sarazin is actually using in Antibes. I know he is supported by Peugeot Sport, but to my knowledge they don't have any cars themselves? ;)

Vouilloz slept well i think and is taking two best times in first two stages off the day, looks like he is cruising to victory. Sarazin lost almost a second a km in first stage but is well on the pace on second SS (Col de Turini). Bouffier is still loosing lot of time, so i don't know if engine problem is really solved?

Sarazin is taking best time on the long Lantosque stage. They are only 19 seconds of Vouiiloz, but i guess they won't attack they fellow countryman for victory. Three more stages to go (repeating the three they did allready today). ;)

Look at the ERC standings at http://www.rally-erc.com/standings.php

If Travaglia had come to Antibes and won the rally, he would have been European Champion! Rossetti scored only 3 points in Antibes and can thank God now that Travaglia didn't start!

It's FIAT/Abarth fault !!!! They should have helped Travaglia, and also even Basso/Scandola to run this rally, like Peugeot-Sport does with Sarrazin/Rossetti/Vouilloz

Situation about Rossetti - he gave into final parc ferme, but stewards take his car, car of Vouilloz, Isik and Tlustak to final scrutineering. Thats why car wasnt directly in parc ferme, but everything was OK with regulations.
