Danny O'Quinn Jr. is in racing purgatory. The reigning Busch Series rookie of the year has a deal with Roush Racing. What he doesn't have is a sponsor. As a result, O'Quinn is scheduled to run only one Busch race this season (at Kentucky). The rest of his time will be spent working the garage on NASCAR race weekends, trying to get a sponsor, or driving some car, somewhere, anywhere. :(

Now not only do the sponsors want young drivers but they want them to be front-runners IMMEDIATELY !
Danny O'Quinn Jr has talent, he just didn't get the runs to prove it. :s

maybe its the boss, maybe no one wants to be with Roush, we saw last year Ameriquest sponsor 4 cars in the Busch Series.

Jack still thinks another Kurt Busch, or Matt Kenseth, or Carl Edwards is going to happen instantly, but its not.

Danny O'Quinn appears to be a casualty of the inherent need for marketability in a driver currently, rather than Roush giving up n him. I think the sponsors just don't believe he stacks up well agains a Ragan or Kluever. Unfortuanately that combined with the results of what used to be expected of rookie has left him in this situation. He has the talent and should that with several good runs throughout the season. He managed the Rookie Award and a top twenty finish despite missing two races, racing on tracks he's never seen before(for the most) and fifth or sixth string team/equipment. he showed much improvement in the second half when he all but one of his top-10 runs.
i like Tood Kluever but O'Quinn outperformed him in head to head. if Roush had run him in the two events he missed he would have likely finished ahead of Kluever.
at least Roush is keeping him around. hopefully something will open up. it's Roush fault more for stocking up on too many developmental guys and ending up stuck. can't really blame Roush for trying to hit the jackpot again. Roush's track record for finding succesful drivers is an enviable one. he's found two Cup champions in Busch and Kenseth, a Busch & Truck champion in Biffle, and a prolific winner in Edwards. not something to scoff at.

Heard that Danny Q'Quinn has a four race deal to run the #56 Mac Hill Motorsports car, no idea which four races, but one is supposedly not Daytona in Feb.

As far as Roush Racing in the Busch Series goes, Danny O'Quinn is currently only scheduled for 1 race. (Kentucky)
It is to be with an "unannounced Roush team". :s

That is a surprise because Mac Hill Motorsports runs Chevrolets .....
Being a Roush Racing driver, Danny Q'Quinn is probably under contract to Ford !

Just because Jayski reports it doesn't make it fact, he is the 1st to admit his rumors are sometimes just RUMORS.
Jayski has good sources but watch the updates as rumors sometimes change as they become news.

I hope it works out for Danny. He's a good kid and respected locally.

i once heard Michael Waltrip say that sometimes Jayski rumours are just rumours, but later become fact when the subject(s) of the rumour reads it and thinks its a good idea!
