Well either your source is mistaken or Malcolm Wilson was not saying the truth when he commented to Finnish MTV3 that JML will continue in Ford team http://www.mtv3.fi/urheilu/ralli/uutiset.shtml/arkistot/ralli/2009/04/851687 (story is in finnish)

It depends what Ford want and what you mean by fail. JML only has 6 points so far this year. There are many drivers around who could have scored more than that in that car.

I think JML should be gone. He makes Galli look like a reliable driver. It would be sad to see him gone but he's had too many chances now.

you can t complain for lack of power when you have been measured faster with margin instead of the crews they were faster in that ss...just my opinion.

1. Very very long straight
2. Maybe a little longer gearratio?(Petter did'nt get time to prepare his car for this rally..This is not the fastest rally, exept this stage)
3. Petter is'nt a B-driver( He also knows how to go fast)

Loeb was asked about this particular fact in Norway, that he was slower on the straight than Petter. He said that his C4 was set up for faster exit of the corners on compromise of top speed, so that was no surprise to him.

I think Loeb is very good at exactly tuning his car very well to each type of stage, or set of stages. Since Petter had such an obvious highest top speed compared to others, it can very well indicate that he may not have had an optimal overall setup. Something that would be expected, in his first rally with the car.

Very disappointing for Mikko... And I do really think he could have been faster than that. Just Latvala once again lets Hirvonen down, and that makes Mikko think about Manufacturers points more than about personal victory...
1. If Ford wants to get points - they must get rid of Latvala and bring in someone more consistent.
2. If Ford wants to get victories - they must get rid of Latvala as well so that Mikko can really fight on the limit.

From where is coming this odd assumption that Mikko is slowing down due to manufacturers champ?? LOOL its's against everything that Mikko has said; he is going for drivers champiionships even with little risks. Mikko is no more boy and he must to think his own championship and own results first.

I'm also getting tired of watching Seb win every rally with relative ease. It's not just that he's a really good driver in a really good car; more importantly, there's just no one left who can challenge him. Mikko wasn't nearly as fast as Marcus when he became the no1 driver when Marcus retired.

Marcus and Petter are the only guys who are good enough to regularly beat Seb. But Marcus retired and Petter's Subaru has been literally falling apart underneath him for the last 4 years, and now he's in a private car that can't match the pace of the manufacturer cars.

So there's really no one left in a position to challenge Seb.

Wow.. Ott Tänak from Markko Märtin team won the last stage in group N. He has done very well. he said that his aim is to just finish the rally. It is his first ever WRC rally. Yesterday he retired before the last stage because on penultimate stage he cought the car in front (and drove almost whole stage behind that car losing over minute) and the dust caused some problems to the engine of his car and he decided not do risk with the engine on the last stage. Good luck for the last day.

There will allways be ifs and buts in motorsport. Put all the guys in the same car, then you will see who the best is.. As far as I rememeber, if you can call it the "Subaru WRC cup" Petter has beaten Martin, Makinen, Hirvonen, Atkinson, Sarrazain...etc... Loeb has beaten Duval, McRae, Sainz and Sordo.. We can speculate all we want, and never find the answer.. All I know is Loeb has got the upper hand:Best car(no doubt), best team, french team, and a lot of self confidence due to that.. No doubt Loeb is the greatest ever, but that is not only his "fault" ;) I hope he stays in wrc until the s2000 comes into picture... Maybe some changes? Who knows.. In my opinion Loeb, Bosse and Solberg is in a class of their own.. Why? Cause statistics in motorsports is not fair... I was a great gokart driver, but what did that help, when I did'nt get the right equipment and help, ..etc..

During the 2008 season I might have agreed with you, but after watching Petter in the Xsara it's clear that the Subaru was holding him back.

Even in 2006, Petter was often challenging for the win when his car would just fall apart. It was so unreliable that it was almost funny. He'd be speeding along when, without warning, something would break. I recall one rally where I believe something spontaneously caught fire. It's one thing to have your suspension break after hitting a rock with an open wheel, but it's completely different when the car just can't make it through a whole rally.

I'm not saying Petter is faster than Loeb because it's impossible to know- it's my opinion that Loeb is overall the best driver, but I think that in a C4, Petter would be tough competition for Loeb on gravel rallies and get a couple victories.
