Following on from the irc thread and I know its a bit early yet but any gossip / news?

I see Steve Fleck and Peter Lloyds subaru's are up for sale. Remember hearing someone say Peter Lloyd will be using a mk2 for singal venues and a newer impreza wrc for Epynt and like, not sure if this is 100% true though.

Anyone else?

I wouldnt be suprised if Elfyn Evans moved up to the Mitsubishi Evo challange next year. Ive been impressed by his performances in the Fiesta Sporting trophy

will there be an Evo challenge next year? With all I have heard about how they handled it this year it made me wonder if they were going to scale back their rallying backing in the UK?

Peter bought my mates LHD MK2 and apparently it was converted to RHD
The car came in from Norway originally and is on an R reg plate
My mate had the shell totally rebuilt which I think Peter bought it due to the standard of the shell

Just wondering, with the impending ban on the 306 cosworth is Andy Burton planning on running it right until the end?

David Kynaston was talking about buying a tractor, not sure if this means that he'll be getting rid of the Audi though :D

I think that most of the people under threat from K37 will keep using their cars because it still seems to be a British GP style 'wait and see'. Until we stop seeing the cars out on the stages then I won't except that it's happened :(

Andy will stick with the Peugeot until whenever the K37    rule changes are made. I think theres a bit of confusion to when this is actually happening i thought it was the start of 2012 but ive heard 2010 so next year could be its last its such a shame our sport is run by the MSA who seem to have no understanding about Rallying whatsoever

Burton's new car was only six months away from completion before he decided to go no further. Which is really gutting i would have loved to have seen it.

The MSA dont want specials as they are afraid they will be liable if one of them has an accident on road. Yet even when there banned from rallying there still road legal because they have all had an SVA test. Which is a safety inspection by the Department for Transport to make sure that all one off viechles are designed and constructed to modern safety for public roads. So Burton could arrive to say the Woodpecker Rally as a spectator in the 306 Cosworth.

K37 has really annoyed me as i cant see a real need for it and it wont make Rallying more competitive either which the MSA think it will. At the end of the day people who can afford World Rally Cars are most likely to win events. Therefore taking away the ability of people to build there own cars for less money which can take on WRC machinery can only make the sport less competitive.

K37 is an attempt to get us all watching Group N dull fests with no noise whatsoever. There is generally a lot of confusion over what it actually entails and what will be banned or uneligable so until it's actually brought into force most spectators seem to be in the dark. I know that the rule also relates to sprint and hillclimbs where cars won't be allowed fibreglass panels in certain classes/forms. Again I haven't really read into it and will just wait until the blue book tells me what's going on.

I can see the price of 6R4's rising as its a car that will be allowed to continue to compete

Probably. 6R4's are pretty cheap at the moment you could pick up a decent one around £50,000 cheaper than a lot of GpN cars and MK2 Escorts.

I would love to start Rallying next year im thinking Vauxhall Nova BTRDA 1400 Championship but its just so much money. Firstly i need to pass my driving test and a get car which will probably cost near £4000 all together. So to get a rally car on top of that would be a no go i think unless i win the Lottery :D .
I recently saw a 1400 Nova rally car for around £7000 which wasnt bad. I was wondering about Insurance for rally cars and how much that would cost???
Shame really as i just want a chance
