A few years ago, I stayed in a state park about 20 min. away, but that trip was ruined when our campsite got robbed while we were fishing. Stay in a hotel!!!

Did you try Paul & Mary's? $40.00 a night for tents, shuttle to track. VERY family oriented, nice place to stay.

No problem. There is one a little closer to the track, but IIRC, they don't have a shuttle. It's still a pretty good walk to the track, especially if it's 90, or, (and I hope not) rainy. P & M's also have shower trailers, depending on how long your planning to stay. ;) :D

Maureen and Michael Flanigan are Irish Catholics who live in St Louis with their ten children. They have six boys and four girls. For summer vacation Maureen and Michael decide to take the children, all but the oldest two, camping in Chicago. The story is filled with the hilarious events that take place while camping with eight of their children.

There is one more down the street that shows tent camping for the IRL weekend

No experience with them or connection. I just drive by all the time and see the sign.

Some of the homeless have extra space under the Ell. Geeze, 'el cheapo' at least spring for a Holiday Inn Express (free breakfast and high speed wireless) *LOL*

Well last time I tried to have a harmless little bonfire in a holiday inn they got all pissed! I really didn't understand their beef, but I'll stick to outside i guess

yah it was awsome! Thanks for the info. We ended up at the greenfields campground. It was really nice and the shuttle was a great help on race day! The rain did catch us off guard though when we left a few things out. but a great trip cant wait till next time! Unfortunetly that will be 2010 because I will be in Afghanistan next year at this time! but i can't wait to see them under the lights
