We had a good time as well. We were able to drive inside the track and set up the car and an ez up right on the fence between Turn 1 and 2 along the inner loop. I suspect in future years they won't allow vehicles along this area as it's pinched between the track and a stormwater management pond, but it was a good spot for now. Once they get some grass to grow, it's going to be a great place for racing. It took me 70 minutes exactly from the gate to my front door.
I watched a little of wind tunnel last night and Harbel Seigel kinda sidestepped questions about spectator amenities, but I think they will have to address them if they expect to have any shot at accomodating top level racing. They need grandstands outside the track along the main strait, but there really isin't too much room for decent stands and a crowd unless concessions are underneath. The plans show a spectator parking field across the road from the main straight. They also need to add some spectator berms in the Octopus area so you can actually see anything. There's potentially a lot of track to see from a very concentrated area, IF they choose to. He definitely was concentrating on the country club aspect of the track. The place is essentially three weeks old, so I'll give them time.
