I'm happy to report that i'll be going! Only one title has been decided, the LMP2 crown goes to Jos Verstappen, but the LMP1, GT1 and GT2 crowns are yet to be decided! Should make a great race with extended coverage from Autosport!!

Yep the 2 annoucements to be made at Silverstone are expected to be Peugeot and Embassy. Can't wait!

Tom206wrc
5th September 2008, 22:40
So RML with the Lola coupé wasn't one of two announcements awaited in fact??

Scuderia ferrari
6th September 2008, 11:48
Not according to Mariantic, no. I expect the Embassy announcement to be what has been rumoured, Acura power for 09.

The LMP1 Radical Bio-diesel is awaited for the 1000km of Silverstone too !!! Interesting :D

I think it will depend on the weather. Peugeot is super quick in the dry and can afford to go for broke. Audi/Joest will for sure have something up their sleeve but more so with mid-race strategy.

Has anyone on the forum a slight idea of what will consist the "Peugeot Show Lap" programmed just before the 1000km race of Silverstone ???

I think they did something like that last year if i remember. Just taking some people (who have stamped up a lot of money!!!) having a ride in a peugeot around the track, probably driven by one of the peugeot drivers, but could be wrong.

First free practice is about to end now(after 1 hour action)and surprise...SHINJI NAKANO in the Epsilon Euskadi is leading the privateers(5th overall)

rob01

Rollcentre down in 16th, just wait until Joao Barbosa starts setting the lap times!

Tom206wrc
12th September 2008, 17:29
End of 2nd free practice ;)

Allan McNish in the Audi #1 showed what he could do in wet/drying condition and was 3s faster than the 908s(#7 in front #8)... ;)

Several cars seem not to have run during this last practice of the day(among them two LMP2 Porsche RS Spyder)

Tom206wrc
13th September 2008, 16:32
So both 908s will debute the race tomorrow on the first line of grid, followed by both Audis, the Lola Aston, an Oreca and the surprise the Epsilon Euskadi... :)

But what tense action with the 908 #8 which went of the track during third free practice and the "light crash" of the 908 #7 with the LMP2 Lola Coupé during qualifying practice :mark:

Anyway, I can't wait for tomorrow race :)

Peugeot must feel sick, what must they do to win?
Must admit I'm slightly disappointed that Audi have won,....

Let's hope Peugeot win next year. We need new winners,...

Tom206wrc

I'm totally gutted by the results, under shock !!!! I still can't believe Peugeot drivers made such mistakes !!! ;( ;(

Congratulations to the winner Audi #1(McNish/Capello), 2nd #10 Lola Aston Charouz(Mücke/Charouz), and #16 Pescarolo Judd(Bouillon/Dumas)...

Of course congratulations to the team winner Audi #2(Prémat/Rockenfeller)

I have a small doubt about Capello's fairness/unfairness behaviour during crash with 908 #8(Sarrazin/Lamy) though...

Bring on PLM now !!!!

Well, I am happy for the Audi team, but sorry for you, Tom. I think that the Pug can stike back at the Petit Le Mans, though!

I would like to say well done to the Charouz team in the Lola Aston for getting second place. It was a great result for them and the team. Hopefully in future years they can go one better.

Shocking!!!

Commiserations to Minassian and Gene, he threw it away and admitted his mistakes. Can't help but feel sorry for the #7 team after dominating LMS.

Well done to McNish/Capello for winning the race, Premat/Rockenfeller for winning the series, Joest/Audi putting up a great fight.

Great result for the Charouz/Lola-Aston Martin.

Great day out. Great weather. Can't wait for next year.

Peugeot? New? You do know they won it LAST YEAR don't you?

That's why i'm happy. Audi diserved to win. Overall they are a better team. The win Le Mans and make Peugeot look silly in the LMS in the very last round.

Can't wait till next year.

Audi win 1 race and still win the Championship. Ah well, consistency pays off.
Peugeot need to sort their tactics out and their pit stops which are still longer than the Audi's.

What did you make of Capello's shunt with Sarrazin?

It happened infront of my eyes! Can't decide if its racing incident or Capello's fault. I'm erring towards the latter.

50/50. Peugeot and Audi will race hard as was proved strongly at Monza. But it makes for great excitement nothertheless but i don't want it turning into a demolition derby!
